I have a mazda mpv 2002. Fans do not work unless the ac is on. Changed the cfm and still the same. Could cooling temp sensor be not signalling the module while still operating normal temperature readings

The fans will not come on till the temperature is above about 90 degrees so it sounds like yours is working ok! The fans will come on as soon as the AC is turned on!

Also check your fan relays, they're located on the left side by the washer fluid in a rectangle black box. If your check engine light isn't on, leave be, they're ok..

No, the fans have separate relays. You have to use the wiring diagram to sort it out. The pcm turns on the cooling fan relay with a ground signal on a purple/black wire when the temp sensor signal rises too high.

2004 mazda mpv engine racing and cooling fan not working

coolant temp sensor tells the computer how hot or cold the engine is so it can regulate the idle and fuel mixture, when it fails there usually is no cooling fan and you will have trouble starting the engine and keeping it running.

My 02 buick century keeps popping the cooling fan fuse and my fans dont turn on is it my pcm ??

I just replaced a set of cooling fan motors for this problem, and the connectors on the motors were even melted, had to replace connector pigtails as well, th fans also cools the a/c condenser so if the fans quit then your a/c will not be very cool unless your driving and the air flow will aid like a fan would..

My fans stay on all the time even if the temp is not high i have a mazda 2002 mpv lx dont know where the fan switch is located i think is bad

on most vehicles there is a sensor screwed into the head which sends a signal to a relay which puts power to the fans. there is not a "switch" you can turn off. look in your manual for location of the fuse panel. as a 1st step, read the legend inside the panel lid, find the fan relay and replace it. if that does not do it then you are going to need to buy and replace the sensor. if that does not do it then you are going to a dealer for an electric system diagnosis by someone who works on this car all the time.

2001 mazda mpv overheating both fans at not working PLEASE HELP!!

there is a thermal fan switch on the radiator that drives the relay.

the things to check are,the fuse, the thermal fan switch, the fan relay and the fans themselves.
if they all check out ok,it is the fan control module that is blown.
