Cooling fans work...but will not turn on...I smell antifreeze opening the hood....radiator level low cold....overflowing
The main problem would be your radiator fans don't turn on. This would cause pressure to build in your radiator causing coolant to flow over into the coolant reservoir. sometimes you might see coolant on the floor your temp gauge should also read much higher than normal. you can connect your fans directly to your battery and drive the vehicle and see if problem still exists. if not then thermo switch etc would need to be checked.

You have a coolant leak most likely in the heater core. Try disconnecting your heater hoses and coupling them together, then running the engine to see if the leak goes away. If it does, I would have the heater core replaced.

The low coolant sensor should be located in the passenger side radiator tank, You need to take it out and clean the sludge off of it for it to work right. Or you can just unplug it and forget about it, the light will go out and it won't cause any problems.
