For a fuse to blow there is a dead short in the circuit after that fuse. Check for correct bulbs in use, damaged wiring /burnt wires. Reset the CPU after the battery change by the use of a scanner.

SOURCE: brake light and stop brake light stay on after car is turned off. This is killing the battery. Tried changing the 15 amp breaker under sterrting column

Your brake light switch is eith stuck or gone bad.  It is located on the brake pedal and you can try to jiggle it to see if it will free itself and turn the lights off or you will need to replace it.  It's a pretty easy job and relatively inexpensive.  Let me know if you have any other questions.  Thanks for rating my response and for using FixYa!

SOURCE: no brake lights, fuses keep blowing and wont shift out of park

I just fixed my daughters car with the same problems. I found some ***** had ininstalled the tail/brake light bulb incorrectly, (that had to be hard) and the two contacts over time had started to make contact blowing the tail and stop light fuses.

2006 lincoln zephyr stuck in park

Next to the shift lever is a small square cap flush with the console pry it up and out with a small screw driver. Under the cap is a button, push it down and put the car into gear. This will get you going, finding out the cause is another problem, a blown fuse can cause the problem or a broken neutral safety switch (located above the break pedal) or as in my case none of the above, it just kept working after that. Good luck.

My driver's side headlight is out on my 06 lincoln zephyr I bought a new HID light and had it installed but it still wont work. I think it may just be the fuse. But how do I get to the fuse box to...

if one side works, its not going to be a fuse, whoever installed it needs to recheck it if that is possible,, On those bulbs its very important not to touch the actual bulb, as the oil in the body will cause them to over heat and burn out faster . If you can't have the installer check the bulb again,, remove the retaining ring that holds them in place,, remove the bulb , and check it with a meter , check any wiring that leads to the socket to be sure its plugged in completely

The sunroof on my 2006 Lincoln Zephyr is tilting and sliding on its own. Dont know where the owners manual is.

Don't need an owners manual to push the button, to
actuate the sunroof

Maybe you have the owner manual with your
preventative maintenance log book ,where you
write down all you do on the car

If it won't operate correctly, you need a repair shop !!

2006 zephyr, tail lights do not work. Is there a fuse for this assembly and if so what number is it?

Not quite sure if you are talking about the stoplamps or the parklamps which would I think be front and back. But if you look in the fuse panel located inside the vehicle to the left of the steering wheel by the brake pedal, in the number 4 position is a 15 amp fuse which covers parklamps & the license plate lamps. In the number 21 position is the stoplamps fuse and is a 7.5 amp fuse. This should be in your owners manual if you have one. if you need an owners manual for your car, you can email me at [email protected] with your make, model and year and I will be happy to email you a copy of it. No worries it won't cost you anything.....yes there are still free things in the world. Anyway here is a picture of that fuse box layout for you if you need it. I hope this helps you and good luck.
