The fan on my bmw e46 runs for about 5 min...
The fan on my bmw e46 runs for about 5 minutes then goes off then about 5 minutes comes back on.

the fan on a car is not ment to come on till the motor gets to a set temprature
so as the motor is getting cooler it turns off then when it gets to the point where itsd hitting the hotter temp it cuts in to cool the motor back down
hope this helps
if your motor is not over heating thats all it is
if the car is overheating then the thermostat may need replacing
its like a electric oven it keeps one tempriture

Can anyone tell me how to find out if the Aveo 1.6 Automatic engine and gearbox are made in Korea or Germany or indeed any info. I want to buy a 2008 Aveo but am hesitating because of the Korean engine. How would I tell the manufaturer on the engine itself ?

Intake manifold gasket on 2000 3.1 Vin J (Fed) replaced in '08 - then - distributor (?) plug/gasket failed and drained oil from crank case. Engine now extremely noisy (always had lifter noise) and runs - yet I fear it has catastrophic damage. Can/should this engine be repaired? Better to replace? Boat anchor? Please help - backyard mechanic and dad of driver seeks a ton of assistance on this one - the car has been great other than the lubricant issues from Garbage Motors!

Hello, While going through annual inspection on Porsche 911 the computer gives ''not ready status'' for Secondary air System and Oxygen Sensor. I tried to rerun the test after driving for almost 200 Highway/ city miles.The car drives fine and no engine lights are on. How Bad is it, can I drive with it, how much it may run to fix it?
