Have the ABS codes read. Could be a speed sensor at the wheel.

To have both of those errors at once it is more than likely a speed sensor error. A shop can use a diagnosic tool to indicate if so, and which wheel it is, then try to clean it, check connections, or replace it.

SOURCE: Need to obtain master keypad code for 2008 mercury

Pry up the chrome ring around the shifter.
Lift up the console lid and pull out the black container.
Pull up the center console from the cup holder end, it is held down with snap in clips.
The code is on the top-right corner of a white sticker upside down.

STalling out with acceleration

Possible MAF sensor or loss of fuel pressure due to a failing fuel pump is best guess. I would really need to drive it to be sure and run some tests

2008 Explorer 2wd. "Service RSC Now" alarm goes off when you exceed 40mph. Extremely frustrating but only goes off when you go 40 or more. What could this be linked too?

RSC stands for "roll stability control" a problem has been detected with the anitlock brakes. The only way to know what has happened is the vehicle must be scanned for trouble code(s). the code will allow the technician to know where the fault lies. it could be a speed sensor, steering sensor or one of many other things. Be advised, until you have repaired and code cleared, the ABS or antilock brakes will not work.It will not affect the running of the vehicle in any way but no ABS/RSC

RSC ABS Light on

I would try unplugging the connector to the ABS Module
You will have dash lights on, but can use the truck, the brakes
will work, you just won't have ABS
Then plug it back in
If you still have a MIL lamp
You go to a shop, different one & not a dealer,& ask them to scan for codes in Enhanced Mode & just look at the ABS System Codes/Faults
Then Google the issue, or look at the shops data base, for
the proper way to diagnose.
To say entire system-- is just you not knowing what is going
on, or what your told, need to be more involved & ask
more questions & get people to show you & prove to you,
how they come to any conclusion or fix.
I found the B1342 code is used for different systems,
which is odd, & different vehicles,so be careful your looking
at the correct vehicle, application etc on the internet
At a shop with the scan tool your looking into the vehicles
system & can't get that wrong
Just know that codes do not mean a part failed
Component testing for failure is required
At very least do voltage drops on power & ground
side of any module, using a wiring diagram, before
throwing electronic parts at something & get it wrong

I took my middle console apart to fix my new stereo but when I put it back together I forgot which connector was for the rear defrost button. I have a 1999 Mercury Cougar. They all look the same

I appreciate any ideas that will help me diagnose what is tripping the warning light for the ABS/RSC system. I have a 2008 Explorer, 4x4 drive, with the V6 engine. It has just over 124,000 KM on it.
The ABS RSC warning light and beeping occurs on occasion as well. If I go really easy on the brakes, all is well.
I have Inspected all brake pads. They looks ok, . I have also inflated the tires so that they are perfectly equal.
Both the ABS and the RSC warning lights turn on.When i check with one work shop, they scanned and they found B1342 error code, and they said i need to replace entire ABS system.
Can anyone help?

I just bought a 2008 Mercury Mariner. The anti skid and ABS lights started to go on and off at times. It doesn't appear to affect my driving, but.... From my research it sounds like a sensor problem....

Yes, usually a sensor, usually rear.

Out of warranty?

Buy part at tascafordparts.com at discount. Or ebay. Escape will fit too. Probably 2008-11
