it located on the passanger side of the truck near the cab, screwed directly to the accumulator (a large aluminum tank). if your charging on the low side, yes the truck needs to be running.

I have owned my 2000 Chevy Silverado since it had 40,000 miles on it. It now has 165,000 miles on it. I have had very little trouble with it, but recently it has become hard to start after I've been driving for a while. It starts fine and runs good after it has sat overnight, but if I am running errands and I keep re-starting the truck, I have to hold the accelerator down while cranking the engine to get it to start. even when doing this, it will sometimes barely run for a few seconds and then the engine will rev up to it's normal speed.

Pick up was running just fine when got home. Than went to start up and engine would not turn over.Checked battery and battery cables all Ok.Also can get engine to roll over with screwdriver to starter but engine will not start. Was told by local Chevy dealership that the problem is cluster panel sensor is bad.
