Have 2002 Honda accord 3.5 V-6. Normally starts great but if it sits a week or so it's like it flooded? If you finally get it started it will start great if you start it every day. Problem only when it sits for 4-5 days

I can't remember without looking it up but if carburated check needle and or tank vent, fuel cap. If injected find vac hose to fuel pressure regulator , if fuel drips out after running replace regulator if not check injectors by pulling fuel rail with injectors fastened then turn ign to on without cranking a few times leaving 10 to 20 seconds between. Check for leaky injectors.
I must assume the starter cranks at full speed. if yes. then its 1: never tuned up. 2: flooding (use wide open throttle to clear floods) "bad spark" 3: starving for fuel there are simple tests for all 3 failure modes. do you wish to test , or guess.?
sounds like the immobiliser is stuck on ring Mazda up and they will tell you how to reset it you have to turn the key put foot on pedal press a button on stalk and turn key off .ring Mazda and find out off them and this should solve ya prob .hope Ive bin a help Steve
Start with this at the time it wont start and only cranks over squirt some starting fluid in the intake if it starts and then dies out you have a fuel problem. If youve never changed out the fuel filter that would be a good place to start. If after you squirt some starting fluid in it and it doesnt even start check for spark at the plugs then at the coil and so on. Dont get to stuck on the relay if the relay was bad it wouldnt even start also if you have a way to check the fuel pressure check it and make sure its within specs.
No, the main relay isn't the problem. Most likely, the high temp made it a bit more difficult to start, then it sounds like it may have 'flooded' (too much fuel, since it had trouble starting right away). Letting it sit for awhile will solve a fuel flooding problem. Make sure the coolant level is where it should be, and car is not due for a tune up. Extreme heat or cold is tough on an engine, and a few small problems can prevent the car from starting in those conditions. How long has it been since plugs, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, fuel and air filters have been replaced? Just make sure you keep up on the maintenance, and remember. the accord is getting on in years. How many miles? Good luck with the Honda, it's a great car (I have a 91 Prelude and a 92 Accord).
There could be a few things causing this. When the car finally starts, is there any smoke coming out the exhaust pipe? White smoke would mean your headgasket is leaking and is letting coolant into the engine, then it is burned along with the fuel. Does the car run hot? Meaning has it ever overheated? Back to the smoke, if its black, your oil is getting in and is burning.
Now, the reason why it would be hard for a car to start, could be, a leaking headgasket, flooding the car while the car is sitting.
And yes, the car would be able to crank, but just wont start, for a while...because it has to get rid of all that fluid that has leaked into the engine while sitting at night.
Another thing you could look at, is your fuel pump, is it supplying a sufficient amount of pressure? If it isnt, it will take a while for it to pressurize and deliver fuel into the engine. You can check the fuel pump yourself by renting a fuel pump pressure tool from stores like autozone, kragen and more.
the fuel is bad, check your fuel lines and put new fuel in. fuel does go bad if you leave it sitting too long, next time run your car for 15-30 min once a week to prevent this
