Humm ? Sat for six months? Check to see If your new battery Is charged . If It's charged check your main fuse change that
If still no power?
Check your battery cable contacts at the battery and clean them and where they are connected to the starter and the ground to the engine and body.... Still No power? Check for chip monk wire damage they love to nest in the wires

SOURCE: car will not recognize new battery

i put a new battery in mine and was told to put in the new battery and then get in the car with door shut and turn key to on position for about 90 seconds, this worked for me, mabey it will work for you, if your battery is still hooked up you should first unhook it for a couple minutes then reconnect the battery and follow procedure. hope this helps

SOURCE: Battery light on dash is on but car is still going

The battery light on your dash indicates a charging system failure, that would be the alternator and its wiring. If you are still driving the car and haven't needed a jump start in four months, you probably have a malfunction in the circuit that checks the charging system.
Check your voltage at the battery with the vehicle running and if it is between 13.5-15 volts i wouldn't worry to much about it.

Have something draining my car battery. I have a 1999 Pontiac Bonneville, and I have to get a new battery about every 18 months. I had a new alternator put in, new not used, about 20 months ago. I replaced...

If you have a drain on your battery , it would not take 18 months for the battery to go dead . What do you mean The battery gauge in the dash shows only about 1/2 power, When ? When the vehicle is running ? Not charging ! The battery gauge as you call it has nothing to do with the Battery . That's showing how much the charging system is putting .The volt's indicator is controlled by the PCM - engine computer . With the engine running should show 14.1 volts .if your only seeing 7 the charging system isn't working. The alternator is controlled by the PCM as well ! Have it check by a GM dealer .

1999 cad concourse, 75,000 miles, excellent shape. have had 3 or 4 times over past 6 months: engine wont turn over. (like a dead battery but put in new one last year). dash lights, horn,security,door...

This car might not get enough exercise. By that I mean there are things that are running all the time, remote entry systems, clocks, alarm systems. You may have a new battery, but it needs to be kept up to snuff. Sitting alone in the garage with NOTHING running, the battery will lose about 1% per month in ideal circumstances. As I said, your battery is powering all kinds of things while sitting in the garage so the drain is more than the 1% I mentioned. You may want to consider a trickle charger on this car if you are not able to drive it for at least 20 miles or more per week every week.

It seems your average mileage is just under 150 per week. I'm guessing you don't drive this car much on short trips, rather the bulk of your miles were highway on trips.

If I missed the boat on this question, please add a comment and I will try again.
