1996 Buick Century 3100/SFI V6 need location of purge vavle

Under hood with green cap on it

Don't change parts based on some code

Codes have nothing to do with parts

They are used to diagnose a system &
component test

No testing & no failed parts found, you learn nothing,
fix nothing,common sense

Why throw new parts at good one?

SOURCE: Need to know roughly how long it would take to

Depends on your level of experience, quality of your tools and whether or not you have any frozen head bolts. The valve assembly and head come off as one unit on those. To clear the wires, emmision controls ect off of the top of the valve cover 30 minutes. remove valve cover 5 minutes (too scrape off excess gasket material. to remove exhaust manifold from side of head, (assuming no broken/stuck/stripped bolts 15 minutes with good hydraulic tools. To remove head (assuming all goes well and hydraulic tools, 15 minutes. To reassemble, double all times as surfaces need to be prepped and gaskets applied and proper torque on all bolts. It's an afternoon job if you ahve everything you need and nothing goes wrong. Typically add at least two or three hours of drilling and cursing to a head gasket replacement. and a trip for new drill bits and a tap (not beer) for the new hole you drilled.

SOURCE: replacing thermostat on 3100 sfi v6

1. drain coolant from radiator
2. unbolt and remove the water neck from the engine block (it's attached to the upper radiator hose) and scrape any leftover gasket material off of the mating surface w/ a razor or gasket scraper, being careful not to actually gouge the metal
3. pull thermostat out of engine block (it's easy to see w/ the water neck off)
4. scrape any gasket material off mating surface on engine side, being even more careful not to gouge the metal here
5. place new t-stat on engine side opening
6. place gasket over the thermostat (you can put a thin bead of RTV sealant on both sides of the gasket if you wish, some people think it's overkill, but i hate doing things twice)
7. replace water neck
8. refill cooling system, use the little brass bleeder screw on top of the motor to bleed out the air until a steady stream of coolant is coming out after the engine is warmed up. close the screw.

V6 3.1 L engine. Where is the EVAP purge solenoid valve located?

The purge solenoid should be attached to the backside of the bracket that the coil pack is mounted to. Find the coil pack and then look behind and down. It will be a black plastic piece that has two hoses connected to it. If i remember right the connector is red on that one. It is not easy to see or replace.
