I have Envoy 2002 XL 4WD Transmission indicator stuck in D

When the transmission stuck in D, the shifter was in Park position and cannot move to any position. The engine was running at that time when it get stuck and arrive home safely without any change gear i.e. reverse or park. Now the engine wont start and service engine soon displayed in the panel when switch on.

I think the linkage came off the transmission. It is on the left side of the transmission, near the pan. There is a neutral safety switch that is used in that area. That's why the indicator is different than what the transmission is really in. The linkage arm may be worn and/or the shifter cable end is worn and will not stay on the linkage arm.

SOURCE: 94 Camaro V6 transmission in reverse on all shifter settings

check to see if your shift cable is stretched or broken, also look on the transmission itself to make sure that the lever where the cable attaches to is not bent. also you can check under the shifter itself and make sure the linkage there is all ok. it sounds like your shifter cable is the cause for your problem.

if the cable is ok and you can see the shift lever move on the transmission than the next likely cause would be the valve body in the transmission.

I would check the PARK / BRAKE electrical solenoid switch. Designed to not allow the driver to put the car into gear without stepping on the brake at the same time.

SOURCE: vehicle is locked in park

you have to get to the bottom of the shifter, remove floor console...on the passanger side of the shifter at the bottom there is a white plastic piece move it towards the shifter, foot on brake try to move the shifter... if it works you need to change the switch....

transmission shift solenoids bad. (reverse? has none)
transmission is bad. (means removal time)

NOW IF REVERSE FAILS
ALL THESE THINGS HAPPEN TO ATTAIN IT.

GMC 2005 Envoy shifter stuck in park, car still moving

Sounds like a problem with the shifter linkage. A linkage is basically the mechanical connections (rods, nuts, bolts, swivels, etc.) between two points; one is local and the other is remote. Motion or movement of one results in the same movement of the other. Your shifter is the local point for you and the transmission is the remote. If the linkage is bent, broken or missing parts, the local shifter movement will not be transferred to the remote transmission. A mechanic should be able diagnose and repair this for you pretty easily. Good luck!

Have a 2003 Dodge Intrepid. I can't get the shifter on the column to move out of park even when I move the steering wheel up,down & side to side. Is it the cable, the link, what?

The shifter needs to be inspected. The shifter assembly is got misaligned, it has to be open and realign.

There are many other possibilities. But if it was working right up till now and suddenly this occurred then its shifter assembly alignment issue.

2003 chevy suburban 4wd 1500 lt shifts slow to 2nd gear and vibrates between 65 and 70 mph

Sounds to me that you need your trans fluid changed and filter. When you do change it use a quart of Lucas transmission conditioner to it. Also check and see if you may have a bad univercel, It will also make it vibrate at faster speeds or your drive shaft may need to be rebalanced.
