There's alot that can cause this problem. Check battery cables and clean. Drive to autoparts place for free diagnostic. It could be a throttle position sensor, EGR valve, bad gas, bad coil, bad plug wires. Just to name a few. Hopefully the diagnostic test will pinpoint it.

My cousin's car has stopped twice. The first time she was driving and the car stopped, and the check engine light came on. She was able to start it. She took it to the dealership, they said nothing...

these 'ghost' things that happen are usually electrical in nature-as simple as cleaning the terminals and posts at the battery, or unplugging/plugging or replacing the crank sensor. 98% sure it's one of these, and nothing that costs more than $50-$75 bucks (the battery fix is the cost of a wire brush that is made for this-$3 at a parts store.

Bucking, slow acceleration, & shuts off

it can be couple of thing Try a fuel injector cleaner or new fuel can be vacuum leak. Engines need a vacuum to run especially at idle which is when your car dies. It could be a stuck EGR.
If the check engine light comes on it will store a code so take it to a shop and pay them to read the codes. This may give you a starting point.
