If it is a cable clutch operation the adjustment should be at the clutch throw out arm . If it is hydraulic the replace the clutch master cylinder as you may have a blocked compensating port in the cylinder which keeps pressure on the clutch arm and will slip the clutch

How to adjust the clutch cable on a standard transmission

If you can adjust it (in most cases you cannot), you adjust it so that your petal is does not have 'freeplay' after depressing the petal about 1 to 1 1/2"-if after you adjust it and it will not allow clean disengagement (or it slip when you drive and accelerate at higher gears) your clutch is going bad.

Cant select 1st gear and if i force it in the car rolls forward like automatic. i have adjusted the pedal and was good for 3 weeks now same problem and no more adjustment? clutch is only 40,000 old

the problem isnt your clutch pedal its either your gear box or your engin revs are to high try putting it in gear using the clutch petal but while thecar is off

The clutch is not engaging correctly- if you let clutch petal up, it slips (if you give gas it's worse). If no or little gas given, clutch slowly engages after the clutch petal is all the way up.

sounds like you may be able to adjust the clutch and correct the problem, look at the clutch cable and and adjust it some and see if it helps, if it does then adjust it til you feel it is right.

Replace your Clutch, Hydraulic Clutch System can't be Adjusted but check if oil level is good if not add the missing oil ( With DOT-3 Brake Oil ) try by bleeding it if nothing changed, your clutch need's to be Replaced !

89 ranger manual trans slipping already replace clutch and slave cylinder? still slipping any help?

Manual transmissions do not slip ie. when the gears mesh, there is no slip unless they strip out and make an awful noise and will not pull henceforth.

You probably still have a slipping clutch plate against the flywheel. You need to adjust the clutch petal linkage shaft to allow the pressure plate to be release from the thrust bearing, ie shorten the shaft length.. If you and most likely you do just have the clutch release slave cylinder that releases the clutch when you apply the petal. You need to bleed the slave cylinder of any excess fluid or air that may have entered the line if you opened it at any point. You need to bleed it as you would a break cylinder and this should fix ya.
good luck.
good luck
