Have it check for security problems first Security kills power to the fuel system first. Every time I get a no start, I do a complete vehicle scan. Checks all the computers.

I have the battery light on, and a banging noise in the gas tank. Could this be the fuel filter in the tank or the alternator?

it sounds to me that your fuel pump is going out and if your battery light is going on then you might check the battery by disconnecting battery while engine running if it dies then your then your alternator is shot if not then you might have battery checked out

My 2002 chevy impala will not start , battery is good, but all it does is click, doesnt even try to turn over

I have run into similar problems in different vehicles but the principle is the same. Verify that your battery terminals are clean and tight, that the wires are corrosion free and that they have clean, strong contacts. Be sure the grounds are clean and make sure your pos cable contacts at the fuse pnl, starter etc are all clean. There is likely a fused link as well as some large fuses under the hood to test, a relay or 2 in the same fusebox. You should also check the security system in the car. A factory system may have issues where the car doesn't recognize the programmed key. An aftermarket system or a remote starter has a couple of fuses. Some are located in the alarm's chassis, others have them located in line and can be found both under the dash as well as under the hood. You may also want to test the starter, ignition switch... I hope you find your problem quickly because newer cars like yours have a LOT of potential problems! Good luck and happy hunting! :D

Whenever i start my hyundai xg350L it makes a clicking noise, and won't start. i have to get a jump every time i go to start my car. can you tell me what might be the problem?

battery terminals may be dirty or loose, or battery may be a bit low. first clean and tighten terminals. If this doesn't work, you may have a failing alternator. If you have a voltmeter or there is one in the car, jump start the car, remove the jumper cables and check the voltage at the battery. If it is less than 14 volts, replace the alternator. let me know if you have any questions.

I have a 2002 hyundai elantra I have replaced the alternator and got a new battery well it ran for one day then while driving it the next day there was a big clunk like something fell out of the motor then...

crank sensor will cause similar stalling issues. You may have got a bad alternator, if the battery light is on after you jump it, probably needs a new, new alternator. make sure all your connections are tight and plugged in, both on battery and alternator.

Something is drawing power while the car is not running, and it could anything from interior lights remaining on to a defective main computer in the car. If you want to try a hit and miss analysis you can remove all fuses from the fuse box, then re-install one every couple of days. If the vehicle starts ok, install another fuse, and so on until you find the circuit that's drawing power. This could obviously be a time-consuming task, or you could be lucky with the first fuse. HINT: start with fuses such as interior lights, stereo, etc. The other solution is a bit costly, but it will yield a quick fix -- take it to the dealer or a reputable garage in your are for an electrical check.
