Question about 2002 Pontiac Aztek
I drive a 2003 Aztek - front wheel drive. for the past year, my rear brakes have been thumping/knocking when I brake(knock..knock..knock)I have had my brakes replaced front to back 2x, (rotors/calipers/pads front end and drums in the back end. I have had my tires balanced several times. I have had my drums machined etc etc, but still my brakes knock when I brake(mostly at low speeds) - my mechanic cannot figure out what it is, someone has suggested a ball joint - is there ball joints in the rear end? help.
I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM I'VE BEEN DOING A LOT OF RESEARCH ON IT AND I THINK ITS GONNA BE THE BUSHINGS IN THE REAR KNUCKLE ASSEMBLY AND YOUR HAVE TO CHANGE THE WHOLE ASSEMBLY. I HAVEN'T TRIED IT YET BUT IF YOU CHECK BACK IN A COUPLE DAYS I WILL LET YOU KNOW

Get the rear tires off the ground if you give the tire a spin and it spins and spins you dont have rear drum drag . if you spin the tire and it goes less than half way around you have drum drag adjust rear brakes
