AC is off, but cool air still blows. Is this normal. Friends car does the same, but she just adjusts towards heat. Red on button. But I do not want to burn out AC motor if this is wrong.

Most cars have whats called flow thru ventilation. The fan runs on low speed in the off position to pull fresh air thru the passenger compartment. It would be outside air so the air temp coming thru the vents would match the outside air temp.

My AC some times blows cool air with good pressure but most of the time blows air with low pressure. I have checked the AC pipe also. Its cool.

I'm wondering if it's NOT the AC but the blower fan, how does the heat side blow? if it's good on all blower settings then, it's more than likely your blender door is not opening and closing all the way. When the blender door stays open a little bit it'll let warmer outside air mix with the cold AC air causing it not to be as cold as it should.

Why does my pt cruiser blow hot air when a/c or just turning on outside air?

It's probably that the air tubes lines are already hot due to the hot weather(car parked outside in the sun) and it takes 2-5 for the AC to be blowing air at the correct temperature.
Solution: Turn the AC on but reduce the fan speed to bare minimum for the at least 2 min. After that, crank it up and you should be able to enjoy the cool refreshing air.

2007 mazda 3 check engine light on. Shop says need o2 sensors replaced. Where are they located. Also, AC is blowing warm air. How do I diagnose?

o2 sensors are usually located on the outside of the exhaust pipe under the car right after the engine and transmission, they have a wire going to them and usually are very seized due to many heating and cooling periods. As far as the A/C, you can turn on your ac and see if the clutch kicks in on the ac pump pulley to cool. You can also buy a set of gauges from an auto parts store to see if it is low on refrigerant for about 30$

Ac fan speed

Replace the blower motor resister, this is the speeds for the blower motor,it is located very near the blower motor, and is mounted on the blower box,and it actually goes inside the box,to keep it cool. The reason for it`s failure is the blower motor, even though the blower motor sounds, and runs good,it is drawing too many amps.If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Kia over heats when air is on only

your AC cooling fan is not working properly, most vehicle has two fans, one for the radiator and another for AC, both work in sync with one another; if one cooling fan only working it does not produce enough cooling for both radiator and condenser at the same time; by running ac you producing more heat and its cant cool the engine fast enough with one fan so your engine is overheating when running AC. The temperature sensor could be faulty and need to be replace or your fan motor can also be faulty. Check the fuse first and the relay make sure they are not burn out. sensor cost about 30 bucks get it new, relay 35-40 new used 5 bucks at junk yard, fan get it from a junk yard for 25-30 bucks, new will run over 100 bucks. don't run the air and overheat your motor, it can damage your engine or may blow your radiator. if you do run ac watch the temp very closely, don't let temperature get into the red.

Ac compressor does not turn on when car has been sitting & it's hot outside. Works fine in the morning.

either the freon charge is about 1/3 low, or the expansion valve needs to be replaced. Freon is getting into the evaporator, but not in great enough volume to cool the air unless it is coming in cool to start with. check your ac charge, and if it is full, then have it emptied, change out the expansion valve, and recharge it

A/C air flow problem

AC works as so..

It does not actually cool the air, however it removes the heat from it (and without heat the air feels cool). As the air is blown around the car the AC system removes the heat from the air, and then it moves it to the condenser at the front of the car (infront of the radiator).

Now usually the car is moving forward, so that air flow will cool the condenser and then you can move more heat from the air inside the car and push it out the front of the car again. This is why, if you have a front wheel drive car, you will hear the cars fan start as soon as you turn the AC on.

Also the car will be much better at cooling the air that is recirculating inside the car (your a/c system will have a button for this) then if it tries to cool hot air from outside.

The long and short of it is that if you hop in a hot car, start the car and run the ac (even at full) it wont be cool straight away, it is mostly influenced by how much you are driving forward.

Try this. Start the car, turn the AC to recirculate the air, turn the AC on and go for a drive for 10 mins, pull over and wind down the window. Compare the outside air to the inside air, then you will see the difference.
