Wires to heater fan get very hot 2001 Grand Cherokee Jeep

My heater fan started going on and off randomly and then nothing. I read on google to shake the wires under the dash on right hand side which I did and the fan started up immediately. I touched the wires and they are getting VERY warm... Is it a resistor or a relay or something else???

The resistor is bad ,which caused the end of your connector to burn up so you might have to replace the pig tail on the wires. Hope this helps.

Check hoses going to heater core. Do both get hot? If so, problem may be a "blend" door failing to actuate due to vacuum leaks or bad actuator. If neither get hot, change thermostat.

Even though the plugs are "new" it can get fouled out. Soon as you put in a new set, one could go bad on start up. The plug wire could have hit a hot surface and burned into the insulation causing a spark jump. You can check the wire by holding a screwdriver in the spark plug end and holding it 1/4' from a metal surface. Have someone to turn the engine over to see if you have a nice blue looking spark jumping from the screwdriver to the metal. Also, at night start the engine and look under the hood for any sparks jumping from the area. you could also have a misfiring injector but I would put that at the end of list.

I would check for jumping sparks first, then install a new plug in #2. Right now you would only be out of $2 for the plug.

Air con / heater not working in my 2000 jeep grand cherokee no fan working no hot or cold air nothing

Your fan motor has most likely gone out. Its not that expensive of a part but most likely your problem. It can be a pain in the **** to fix though. Also, if you fix that and it still doesnt work, its likely to be a fuse, wiring, or something in the electrical system.

blend door actuators. If you have the AZC system (automatic zone control) used in the limited (the one with dual digital readouts) you can use the on board diagnostic to read the code. while running, press the a/c and recirc buttons at same time then turn drivers temp control one click clockwise. release a/c and recirc buttons. If you have codes that show up, write them down and google search for these codes. It will tell you exactly what is wrong.

2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo radiator fan doesn't turn on.

Check power to the relay. it can close, but if there is no power to it, it can't send anything to the fan.
signal goes from sensor, to the computer, to the relay. when it closes it transfers power from the hot side to the fan.
