You will prob have to take it to a ford dealer and have them reset the trans comp. Sometimes the trans comp is set with a specific vin or serial num for the tranny and will need to be reset to read the new one.

1982 gmc f150 truck. Just put in another automatic transmission. Transmission fluid is shooting out of filler tube when running.shot out all of transmission fluid to where it wouldn't move.

GMC --is a general motors

F150--is a ford

So you need a repair shop or trans shop

That trans wasn't built correctly or you
installed a used junk unit that had failed

-Sounds like shifting solenoid is not working properly. (It's inside the transmission valve body)

Good luck

1990 F150 tranny won't shift up. put in new tranny worked for about 30 miles.

This could be several different issues. It could be the detent linkage if it is a C6 transmission, It could be the solenoids if it is an AOD. It could be a speed sensor if it is an electronic shift transmission.

I have a 1994 Ford F150 5.0L 4x4 and its been shifting hard from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 3rd but it doesn't happen all the time. Any suggestions on what could be wrong? I believe it has the E40D...

This transmission was a problematic transmission for Ford. The problem is a shift solenoid and or another valve malfunction in the valve body. The only way you are going to solve the problem is to place some line pressure gages on the ports that allow the taps to do so. This will tell you what is going on as far as pressures are concerned. I have rebuilt many of these transmissions. If you trailer tow a lot and the tranny has high mileage on it then it is probably had it. They are not good for many miles if you put them into hard service. Like I said a very problematic transmission. Sorry I can't help more, but I would have to have the tranny to check the options. If you take it to a tranny shop they will more than likely replace it with a rebuilt unit. Be prepared to shell out around $3800 dollars for the tranny.

Rear brakes on 2006 f150 need changing

There should be two bolts that hold the caliper to the axle assembly. Remove these two bolts and slide the caliper off. At this point check the rotors for abnormal wear or grooves. Depending on how many miles you have on them I would replace them regardless. Before you insert the new pads into the caliper I like to use a C clamp and a piece of flatstock to force the pistons back to their original location. If you don't do this you will not be able to fit the caliper over the rotor. Before installing the caliper if you did buy the new rotors use some brake cleaner to remove any of the cosmoline oil that they are shipped with. Remember to chock your front wheels or use jackstands if you have enough. Good luck!
