Blower only works on the two highest settings

2001 Olds Alero
THe A/C works but only blows on the last two(highest) blower settings. Was told a resistor is out (I already checked fuses) so I bought the part. However I cannot find where it is located even after taking apart the console. Any suggestions where to look??

Hi the blower motor is under the right side of the dash
remove the hush pannel
you don't have to remove the blower motor but it does give you more room
disconnect the wiring to the resistor there are two 5.5mm bolts that hold the resistor in
remove the bolts and slide the resistor out
install the new resistor and reassemble
hope this helps

If the blower motor is under the hood, the resistor pack will be next to the motor. It will be a connector with 3 or 4 wires going into it. If the blower motor is on the inside, the resisitor pack will be located behind the passenger side hush panel directly below the glove box.
I can't remember off hand when they made the switch from outside to inside.
Good luck, let me know.

2001 olds alero. replaced thermostat last year. Heater still not blowing warm air just cold. AC works. Defrost blows cool air.

Heater core is bad. Part is about $40...labor is around $700. The entire dashboard has to be removed and this is a major time involved job. It takes 10 to 12 hours.

The blower on my 2000 Olds Alero isnt working

You would need to know if the blower motor is running. If it is not, you would need to know if it is getting power and ground.
If it is running, it could be a blend door problem under the dash.

Air does not blow

The car normally blows air through the blower however the controls and settings of the speed of the blower are controlled by the blower motor resistor. The resistor controls the speed of the blower fan. If your blower still works on the highest setting then the blower itself is still in working order. If you are not getting any air at all, even on the highest setting, then chances are the blower has gone bad, blown fuse or open wire. If this does not help please give us more information to work with.

EITHER BLOWER MOTOR RESISTOR FAULTY OR THE AC / HEATER CONTROL MODULE OR SWITCH IS FAULTY.

Where is my blower motor relay on a 2001 olds alero

The blower motor circut for testing the unit is located above the glove box. You will have the remove the glove box for access to check if the motor is any good. If you are looking for the relay, they can be either in a seperate fuse panel located in the passenger footwell or under hood at the base of the windshield, under the plastic shroud. If the motor is not working or only works on a few speeds, it has been my experience that the motor needs to be replaced. I would look there first. I hope this helps and good luck.

My 2001 Olds Alero wont blow a/c or heat when I turn it on.

Check the fuse, the relay and blower switch, thinking the fuse may be under the hood by the battery since it's a high amp system to run the blower. If everything is electrically sound, you may have a bad blower motor. If you go to Auto Zone, they should have the blower for much less then the dealer and they will have the step by step instructions to replacing the blower motor with common tools. Good luck and hope this helps.Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Heater/ac blower

Usually when the blower loses speeds over time the problem is the blower motor sensor.luckily these are relatively cheap.
