This is a virtually unknown model here in North America and had a very limited sales market.
The Nissan Presage (Japanese: ?????????, Hepburn: Nissan Pures?ju) is a minivan produced by Japanese automaker Nissan from 1998 to 2009. The Presage was only officially sold by Nissan in Japan, Hong Kong and Singapore.
So you you can't turn the switch back all the way to remove the key? It stops at Accessories? Take it back to the garage that sold it to you. If you bought it privately, try squirting WD40 or Electrical Contact Cleaner into the lock using the red tube on the spray nozzle.
Some for FREE... (USA version appears to be ALTRA EV)
"Presage" is NOT getting ANY hits in the USA market...
Which is UNUSUAL... Typically it is HAS a "similar" version
being sold here... "FACTORY" Is important.
>> I'd suggest you try your own search
1998+presage+FACTORY+REPAIR+MANUAL
(although I'm a strong advocate of buying and cherishing FACTORY REPAIR MANUALS... some can be VERY expensive
(but sooner PAY for THEMSELVES)).
Jack the car corner your working on, remove the wheel/tire, use a c-clamp to squeeze the brake caliper and outside pad together pushing all the fluid back to master cylinder, remove the 2 slide bolts attaching the caliper to the bracket, slide the caliper off, replace the pads, pit the caliper back on and tighten the 2 slide bolts, now pump the brake pedal to get the fluid back into the caliper, put the wheel/tire back on and back on the ground. Same with other side. Your only problem is finding the c-clamp you need that's just large enough to squeeze the piston back in to begin with. Place the c-frame on the back of the caliper and the screw in part on the outer brake pad and turn it in till it stops. Gives you lots of room for removal and new pads will fit right in.
first check the pads have not worn down to metal if they have the disc will have to be replaced , if the disc is in good condition and the pistons are free press them back into the cylinders and then the pads can removed .check the master cylinder does not over flow as the pistons are pushed back. Brake fluid is a paint remover. the wheel bearings don't have to be touched to replace pads. After new pads are fitted the brakes will have pumped to bring the pads out to the disc.
Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the precautions in the beginning of this section.
Remove or disconnect the following:
Front wheel
Clip, 2 caliper pins, the anti-rattle spring then remove the 2 brake pads and the 4 anti-squeal shims
To Install:
CAUTION Only replace brake pads on 1 side of the vehicle at a time. Failure to use this procedure could cause the caliper pistons on the opposite side of the vehicle to pop out requiring the reconditioning or replacement of the brake caliper.
Remove a small amount of brake fluid from the master cylinder.
Install a used brake pad into the caliper and compress the caliper pistons.
Apply disc brake grease to both sides of the inner anti-squeal shims.
Install or connect the following:
Anti-squeal shims to the new brake pads NOTE: When replacing worn pads, the anti-squeal shims must be replaced together with the pads.
2 brake pads
Anti-rattle spring and the 2 caliper pins
Clip
Front wheel
Depress the brake pedal several times to seat the brake pads.
Check the brake fluid level and top off as needed.
1. Machine or replace rotors and/or Drums
2. New Disc Pads and /or Brake Shoes & springs for brake shoes
3. New or recond Brake Booster
4. New or recond Master Cylinder
5. New or recond Disc brake calipers and/or wheel Cylinders
6. Brake fluid
7. Check all the brake fluid lines for any damage
thats about all I can think of, hope it helps
Step 1
Park the Mazda 6 on a flat surface. Put the emergency brake on and put wedges behind the wheels to prevent the vehicle from rolling. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Using a syringe, turkey baster or similar tool, drain two thirds of the brake fluid from the master cylinder. Remove the wheel.
Step 2
Remove the bolts attached to the brake pipe. Remove the bolt cap attached to the caliper top. Swing the caliper, pivoting it downwards. Suspend the caliper from the frame using mechanics wire. Remove the M-springs, the pads and the shims.
Step 3
Press the caliper pistons back into the cylinders. Install the brake pads. Lubricate the exterior of the pads using anti-squeal. Install the shims. Install the M-Springs. Reinstall the caliper. Using a torque wrench torque the bolt to 36 to 39-ft. lbs. Install the cap.
Step 4
Reinstall the wheels. Add brake fluid to the master cylinder. Bleed the brakes. Reconnect the negative battery cable to the battery. Start the engine and pump the brakes 3 to 4 times to seat the brake pads. Test drive the Mazda 6 at slow to moderate speeds to ensure that the maintenance was performed correctly.I hope this helps you and please have a merry xmas
The hard part is pressing the caliper piston abck into the caliper so you can get the new, thicker pads over the rotor. A large C Clamp works best.
