I should have asked more questions and explained a little more but it was very late when a car is started (cold) it stays in open loop so it does not use the o2 sensors for air fuel mixture it calculates it from the tp, ect, map/maf, iat, and ckp sensors you had stated that it runs fine after warm up it seams you have a timing issue maybe worn cam, valves, or even off a tooth the computer is using the sensor inputs to adjust for that. I posted that comment cause I had them same kind of vehicle with that code and the throttle patrol sensor fixed it but the rpms where high until it warmed. I would suggest checking the timing

I have 2002 dodge intrepid and it sputters and jerks only when giving a load in drive. this doesnt happen in reverse. and my check engine light isnt on. my buddy tried readind the codes with his coder and...

The sputter you feel under load is either a spark plug wire or a torque convertor shutter due to transmission fluid not being serviced properly, A code scanner connot dictate these problems, You need it tested by a pro with a "Computer" that can read pids (Sensors) as it runs to eliminate un needed repairs..

Is it the cold weather not allowing my car to go in drive?

Yes the cold can do strange things. Try leaving the car to warm up for 10 min prior to driving.

Fuel pressure intermittently drops causing sputter and die.

check for 12v constant at your fuel pump if you are not getting that replace your relay.
if you are getting 12 volts at your fuel pump the fuel pump is possible to run tuel it gets warm then shut down to a lower rpm I would then replace the fuel pump

2000 dodge intrepid 2.7 sputtering, revs up

you need to ck some basics you could have a vacuum leak which would hide during warm up but cause havoc when hot,the leak would cause high idle then your pcm would try to lower idle to spec thru use of idle control motor causing surging idle ,also fuel pressure needs to be checked while acting up,may be more cost effective to pay for an hour of diagnostic.
