Question about 1990 Volvo 760

My 1989 Volvo 760 GLE will crank but wont start at all. I replace the Igniotion coil and RPM sensor but still will not start. Where else will I look for cause I want to keep this car i had for over 20 years. It has 172,000 miles and the body looks good.

It could be a bad solder connection on the fuel pump relay. It is a green relay. The relays are mounted behind the front console. You will have to take off the console panel on the passenger side. You then will see all the relays and can pick out the green one. I think they cost about $20. online. You could get one from a junk yard but you might end up having the same problem.

Hi

Most likely cause is the air mass meter also known on modern cars as the MAF sensor. check for any air leaks in the pipes also. any rips in the air pipes will choke the engine.

There is one in the fuel tank on my 740GLE (1989) and one near the fuel filter underneath near the driver's door.
