It could be the Trunk release relay located behind the passanger front seat in that column. the part is like $20 at advance auto parts. I had the same problem but it didnt fix mine. i had to get the whole liftgate actuator replaced. $400 at a dealer, also that isn't a part you can get at the auto part store. its a dealer only part. you can check at a junk yard and maybe get it a lot cheaper

I press the unlock button on the alarm remote and i still cant get the rear window to open/unlock and the back hatch. what is the problem and how can i get it fixed.

{: ) The usual problem is on the rear door actuator and it comes with three cables, serviced as an assembly. But you will need to open the rear door manually, from the inside. However I cannot teach or demonstrate to you how for you might break something on the trims if not properly executed. I suggest you bring it to a shop that's familiar with the job. The fuses, wirings, and relay are possible culprits but rarely the cause. The rear door actuators for these models have a very good? record of replacements.

Remote often fails to unlock the doors on my 2006 Buick Lacrosse. Seems to work better from farther away.

  • I HAVE HAD SIMILAR ISSUES WITH THE KEY FOB, OR "REMOTE" . UPON FURTHER INVESTIGATION, I OPENED UP THE REMOTE AND FOUND THAT THE THIN, SHINY METAL FRAME ENCLOSING AND CRADLING THE COIN-LIKE BATTERY (CR2025) HAD BEEN SEPARATED FROM THE SOLDER POINTS ON THE SILICON CHIP.

  • I ALSO DISCOVERED THAT ON THE REVERSE SIDE OF THE CHIP (BUTTONS AND RUBBER COVERING SIDE) THAT THERE WAS DIRT, DEBRIS, AND OTHER GUNK WHICH WILL DEFINITELY SHORT CIRCUIT, CAUSING YOUR REMOTE'S BATTERY TO BE DISCHARGED OR MISFIRE. THIS IS BEST OBSERVED WHEN YOU EXPERIENCE A "STICKY" BUTTON EFFECT ONCE THE "LOCK" BUTTON IS DEPRESSED ONCE, BUT THE CAR FEED BACK SUGGESTS 2 PUSHES OF THE REMOTE WERE DETECTED. ANOTHER EXAMPLE: I COULD HAVE SWORN I PUSHED "UNLOCK" TWICE (UNLOCKING REAR DOORS )ON THE FOB/REMOTE BUT ONCE I GET TO THE CAR, DOOR IS STILL LOCKED! WTF.

SOLUTION:

KEEP KEY FOB / REMOTE CLEAN, REPAIR/REPLACE BROKEN BATTERY +/- CONNECTIONS IN THE REMOTE, REPLACE LITHIUM BATTERY

Rear hatch will not unlock on my 05 Denali

Check the unlock mechanism for the hatch. These are controlled by an electrical motor pulling a cable. If the cable came loose you might or might not hear the click click that it makes. I would also check the fuses and relays related to the system. Usually if you can get the interior panel off all the innards are exposed. I would suggest pulling that panel off, then triggering the keyless remote and see if anything moves, that might pinpoint where it has gone bad.

Rear hach

The latch is "closed" but not hooked right.

You can tug the door/window "really hard" and it will open.
After it is unstuck and open, then "unlock" it with the remote... check the "hook/loop" .. it is probably loose. adjust it and tighten it.

It should work ok now.

Hope this helps!

2006 BMW 323i Passnger Door lock will not lock / unlock w/ remote

Replace fuse 57 (15 amp) then disconnect battery and wait 30 to 45 minutes before reconnecting the battery.

My 2006 BMW 325I had the same problem with the door locks not responding. I checked all related fuses and found #57 (15 amp) was the only related fuse blown. I put in a new fuse and it still would not work. I then disconnected the battery for a while then once I reconnected the battery everything worked fine.

I believe I blew the fuse while repeatedly pushing the unlock button rapidly while walking across the parking lock to the car. I suggest only pushing the unlock button only once or twice.

2006 bmw 325i remote only unlocks driverside door. will not unlock all doors when you lock it from the inside. have to use key in remote to open door. also central button to unlock doors is inop

fuse 56 and 57 control central locking, the issue is caused by surges typically in the front door lock actuators, normally at a dealer they would replace fuse 56 and 57 with a 20a mini fuse and if still occuring repl the door lock(s) that dont work or typically both front, first replace fuse 56 and 57 with 20a fuses as were too small from factory and than operate ten to 15 times, if it doesnt work at first dont panic, let the car go to sleep which takes about 16 min and than try again this problem has nothing to do with the key fob or the lock unlock button inside, also the fuses are located behind the glove box just rere the access panel and they are found at lower left section

Remote Door Lock/Unlock will not work.

At first look, I would have guessed that your battery in the door opener was dead, but that is not the case. I suggest driving to a nearby Chevy dealer and ask one of the salesman if he/she can help. They have always been helpful to me. If not try another one as they are in business to sell not only cars, but service also. They will be your best bet to fixing it. :D

My 2006 Yukon tailgate will not unlock when I press the keyfob unlock or the main unlock switch on the driver door. it remains locked as well as the hatch window - cannot open either. could this be a...

I have the same problem. This is a faulty actuator switch according to GMC which controls the tailgate and the hatch window. My 2006 has 90,000 miles on it (I purchased new). Warranty is not an option and cost is estimated @ $600.00 in Arizona. As far as I am concerned, it is safety related issue and should be a recall since there isn't a mechanical way to open the tailgate or window as an escape route in the event of failure.
