ECM would be the next part. Check the number on it . If it has the number 1228253 replace it anyway because they give a cutting off problem. Clean battery cables all three and replace bolts too.

Mate i had the same problem with my car, turned out to be a loose wire in the coil harness.... Pull a spark plug out and plug it back into the spark plug lead, then earth it to the body, Get somebody to turn the motor over whilst you move the coil harness around and see it you can get a spark then, Best of luck.....

Just need to know if the pass key system on a 1993 buick lessabre will cause the 3.8 engine to crank but not start no spark aii components replaced including ecm

Have you replaced the ignition module uner the coils. The pass key cuts off the starter and fuel does not effect spark. if you have no spark crank sensor cam sensor ignition module coils and wiring are all that is there.

Im not geting any spark.its turning but not cranking up

it the ignition module pack or the crank sensor or the cam sensor.i beleive the packs are under the ignition coils.you can take out the ignition module and run it up to autozone for a free test.

My engine shuts off while im driving

Check ecm for number 1228253. If it has this one in it you will have a cutting off problem. Gm replaced these with #16198264 The cam sensor magnet on the cam gear will deteriorate and give problems. This will require removal of the timing cover.

1998 Buick Lesabre How do you test the coil packs?

the coils are one integrated block with 3 separate segments. the coil pack is mounted to the ignition module and can be unbolted from each other. one can test the coils from the underside of the coilpack with a dvom. having said that your car should still start if one paired coil fails, it would however miss on one or two cylinders. I would suggest to scan for codes, monitor live sensor data to see if you have a valid crank signal, check fuel pressure and spark voltage
