Question about 2001 Cadillac DeVille
Oil plug is straight back from the center of the car...go to auto parts store and get a filter and 8 quarts of 5w30, the car will take all of the oil. Use a 9/16 socket to avoid rounding the plug...remember you have to jack from either side of the plug...you cannot jack straight on other wise the plug is hard to get to...the best spot to jack is driver's side right by where the suspension meets the frame there is a nice flat straight piece of frame to lift from

SOURCE: overheating,eveything looks ok.
I have a 97 Cadillac Deville with a northstar engine and have replaced it twice so far, so i answer this by experience...i've noticed to my two prior engines that went bad that the normal temp should NOT EXCEED 228 (normal), the red overheating light will come on at 250 and at 260 it will beep and tell you to stop engine - idle engine and will begin to smoke (overheat).
I hope this helps you and anyone else...by the way if your asking why did i replace my engine twice is simply because my cadillac is super clean inside and out, immaculate condition.

First, provided their are no visible coolant leaks and/or loss of coolant with no signs of leaks, I would thoroughly flush cooling system and replace coolant, then check and/or replace thermostat (you can place thermostat in boiling water to check for proper function), if you have tried these 2 steps and still are experiencing overheating you may need to replace your water pump which can be a tricky job if you're unfamiliar and try to do it yourself, however, I could walk you through it if necessary. Also visually check your radiator hoses for bulges, wear ,etc along with heater hoses etc. You may want to also check radiator fins to see if they are dirty/obstructed and clean if necessary. Let me know if I can assist you further and how it works out

go to your local auto parts store thhey should be able to get you a relacement glass for your mirror if not check another store but autozone has a lot of them when you get it make sure it is one that has the double sided tape on the back then just break out the old glass and replace it with the new one but make sure you only brake the glass leave the plastic plate there for the new one to stick to
