Since none of the cuts affect the length, the length of each of the twelve smaller pieces it the same as the length of the original piece.

SOURCE: NEED TO LOCATE ANOTHER CLIP

If you are writing about the shifter linkage, go to ebay and find yourself a saturn shifter repair kit.
this is a common problem, and you can do it yourself if you can get the console out. kit is less than 20 bucks.

How to keep hood up

You have small gas charged shocks that are supposed to support the weight of the hood that have probably lost their charge and need replaced. Until you can get them replaced you can find a bar, or piece of wood that is the right length or cut to length to prop the hood up, or you can clamp a pair of vice grips to the shaft of one of the bad shocks to keep it from going down on you.

Removing a 'stuck-on' road wheel

It's dark, it's raining and you have a puncture and you can't get that punctured wheel and tyre off the hub! When you try pulling on the wheel/tyre, the vehicle almost falls off the jack and that could be dangerous. Best thing to do is find a hard piece of wood, about one and half meters in length, turn the steering wheel fully until the front of the wheel and tyre are exposed and then strike the inside rim of the wheel firmly with the wood - you'll find the wheel becomes free. Straighten the wheels and place replacement wheel and tyre on the hub. Scottech.

Dodge Durango hatch lifts ,but will not stay up ?

not 100% sure but normally this is because the gas struts that hold it up are probably worn out or leaking slightly, only cure is to replace them. Temporary fix is to cut a piece of wood to the correct length and use it as a prop to support door when open

Rear lifts on 2005 Lexus need to be replaced need to know how to do it take old ones off and install new ones.

All you have to do to remove the rear lifts is first raise the lift and support it with a piece of wood such as a cut length of 2x4.I suggest supporting both sides evenly as to not twist the lift out of shape. At the end of each lift where they attatch is a socket and socket clip which snaps onto a steel ball.On the socket side is a clip that wraps around the end of the lift to retain the ball.On one of the sides of the clip should be a groove to allow a small flathead screwdriver to be inserted under the clip to allow the clip to be pried up a little to allow for the ball to be popped out. This should be the case for both ends of each lift. The lifts are sold at most major auto parts outlets and run anywhere from 25 to 85 dollars a piece. My advice is not to cut corners on price because with gas charged lifts you get what you pay for.The new lifts should just snap on without the use of any tools.Remove blocks and you should be in business.I hope this has helped you....

Rear window stuck down

either way you will have to remove the door trim to get to under the window. measure from the bottom of the window and cut a piece of wood that length and place it under the window. However to go to all that trouble it would be easier to go the wreckers and get a another regulator and do the job in one go.

The muffler hanger broke on my toyota corolla, how do i replace the hanger?

Roll Your OwnThis model's muffler hanger (the metal strap holding the muffler itself onto the car body) is a two-piece design held together with two bolts. The lower piece, shaped like a broad U, can break loose if one of the bolts rusts away. Replacement parts from the local auto store come as a single piece and are not an exact match. This type of replacement will require some determined work to fit once you have removed all of the entire original strap components. And it will cost $30 plus a trip to the hardware store.

If the original U-shaped lower piece is lost or too damaged to reattach, it is a simple matter to fashion a new one with items available at any Home Depot and costing about $6. 1.5-inch wide galvanized metal strips with a row of holes down the middle come in 4 foot lengths, and metric nuts and bolts are often in the same section. Assuming none of the bolts are left, you'll need two 8mm 1.25 bolts, two nuts of the same size, and a few washers big enough to fit easily over the bolts.

Once home, a simple pliers and hacksaw are all you need to bend and shape the galvanized strip to fit around the lower half of the muffler, which should be about two feet in length. After that, it's just a matter of supporting the dangling muffler (a jack or a piece of wood) and screwing the new piece into each end of the original upper half of the hanger. A number 13 metric wrench will do the trick. If you're comfortable with basic tools, this repair will take 20 minutes and outlast your Corolla. -dan parker

there is a plastic rod under the t handle shifter
with five little balls, if you pull the handle up, you should see the white plastic rod pull it out and if there are only 4 balls on the rod then it is broken, you can use a piece of wood (like a chopstick) that will fit, cut to length and you should now be able to **** in to park and 1st
