Question about 1999 Dodge Durango

1 Answer

Now, both power ports have stopped functioning on our 200 Durango

Can I first assume it may be the fuses and if so, where can I find a fuse panel diagram?

For a diagram of the fuses, look inside the cover you removed to get to them. (My 98' has this)

Also, grab a Chilton's book for your local Autozone. I don't know what you mean by 'Power Ports.' Are you referring to the cigarette like outlets inside the cab?

Yes, over the years, since many do not smoke and tech talk is taking over, they are frequently refered to as power outlets or, more recently, power ports.

Is there a quick fix (like a fuse that is easy to get to) for the cigarette lighters? Or, do I have to dismantle the dash (I really hope not) and replace the lighter unit? Your insight on this will be greatly appreciated, sincerely.

1st im sure the alarm stopped working because the power locks dont work (feedback issue) next on some models water from rain or car washes gets down inisde doors and shorts out electric devices in door , with that many things out im sure your gonna find a fuse blown in your panel , but i'll further bet that new fuse will go again next rain as well .

No diagram for the fuse box

Its a fuse. find the fuse box, sometime's there is more then one. Most are inside the drivers side panel. pull out the cover and read the back of the cover. It list the fuse's and their function. Be brave pull out a few fuse's and see if any have a burned wire in the middle. Or simply compare the fuse's you pull out untill you find one that doesnt look right compared to the others. Make sure you replace the burned out fuse with the proper amps, youll see. good luck.
