Noise and burning smell from heater

Pine needles get into the heater box and clog the heater fan motor's "fan".
You also may have rodents in there, making nests.
The wife was smart to turn off the heater fan B-4 the fuse blew.

Loud noise when a/c and defrost are on

I would check the fan motor for the heater sounds like the bearing is going out. Does it scream and then go quite or rumble if so it is probably the heater fan. It will run and blow air but it will make a lot of weird noises. If you shut the fan off and the noise goes away it is the fan.

My motor on my ...well what i think is my heater is extremely loud! how can i quiet it down..... it sounds like a really loud fan

Hello there:
Normally on these heater motors they can get really loud when the fan gets a lot of buildup on them which causes the fan to make a lot of noise and also it will make the bearings in the heater motor to wear out What i recommend you do is to first try to remove the heater blower cover it inside of the vehical and see if the fan has a lot of dirt anddebris around it if it does clean it out next if the fan is clean go to the heater motor and try to feel and listen to the motor and see if it is very hot if it is chances are that the bearings are getting worn which would lead to you replacing the heater motor ok
I hope that this has been very helpful for you
Best regards Michael

AC fan won't run . No air coming out at all. Also heater won't run.

First check the fuse for the fan. If it makes a humming sound, check if the fan blades have jammed somewhere and being physically stopped, it creates a humming sound. Also check the insulation of fan armature to see if an of the coils have shorted out. Also dont forget to check the condenser/capacitor which initiates the rotation of the fan................sodeep

The heater (fan) makes a loud noise.

The most obvious problem could be that something has fallen down into what is called the squirel cage of the fan.

Every once in a while a mouse will decide to build a nest there.

Thank you allowing me to provide my assistance.

Is the noise that you hear a loud "humming" nosie? If so, I need you to remove the lower panel, under the glove box, (if it has one), and remove the 3 screws that hoilds the heater fan to the plastic box. After removing the fan, inspect the fan and inside the box for debris. Most likely, you will find some type of debris contained in the fan blades. This is very common, I drop 2-3 fan motors a week around this time of year. You may also find a rodent nest in the fan area.
