either the master clutch cylinder is bad or the slave cylinder is bad. The slave cylinder is difficult to bleed. You should use a mityvac to bleed system.. it will require 2 people and new fluid. never let master cylinder to get low on fluid.
If it happened during a cold spell and you were using central heat, it is more than likely removing moisture from the house causing nasal membranes to dry out excessively. Try running a vaporizer in the room you are sleeping in.

Decide the cause of the nose bleed
If it follows a blow to the head and the blood is thin and watery it could indicate leakage from the brain.
Fresh bright red blood would indicate a ruptured blood vessel in the nostril.
Sit the patient down
Lean the head forward to allow the nostrils to drain.
Breathe through the mouth
Pinch the nostrils to stem the flow, keeping the head leaning forward.
Hold this position for 10 minutes. Repeat, if still bleeding.
When bleeding stops, avoid exertion and blowing the nose.
If bleeding persists after 30 minutes seek medical advice
The sting itself is fairly obvious and is now probably gone if you can't see it, but do take care to look around inside the mouth. So close to the mouth and throat is a concern though. If you are able to access one without undue expense, take the child to an emergency dept or doctor and watch carefully for any signs of swelling in the tongue, throat and airway.
Also ask about the possibility of sensitisation and allergic reaction to future stings. All the best with this.

3 ways to bleed. 1) Gravity bleed. Start at the rear wheel brake farthest from the master cylinder. Open the bleeder screw about two full turns, and after a while, the brake fluid which is on top of the air will push the air out. When the brake fluid runs out, close the bleed screw. This can take 1/2 hour sometimes. You must keep checking that wheel so you can close the screw BEFORE you drain your master cylinder! Continue this with all four wheels. P.S. Sometimes it will not work. Then you have to go to - 2) Bleed with a helper. Helper gets in the car, and you ask them to push the brake pedal. You open the bleeder screw slowly and carefully, knowing the brake fluid may shoot out violently. Gently open it until bubbles come out. Close the screw, and ask the helper inside to pump up the pedal (about 5 times), and then hold it down medium hard. Continue to open the screw gently until only brake fluid comes out. Close that screw, and move to the next wheel. Repeat on each wheel. Check master cylinder ever few bleeds to keep it full. or 3) take it somewhere and have it professionally bled with a machine.
Bleeding brake lines requires 2 people. If you are sure your problem is air in the brake lines then you need to bleed the air out. First step is to be sure the brake fluid reservoir is full of fluid. Then crawl under the car starting at the right rear tire. There is a small fitting that is near where the brake line enters the back of the wheel assembly. You will need a wrench to fit this fitting. Have someone in the car to pump the brake pedal three times and the last time hold the pedal down firmly. At that point you will loosen the fitting at the wheel and brake fluid will spray from the fitting. If there is air in the lines, it will make a popping sound when it escapes with the brake fluid. The person in the car should hold the brake pedal down until you tighten the fitting back. If they let up on the pedal before you tighten the fitting it will draw air back into the lines. If no air pops out, you may have to repeat the process several times per wheel. Move to the other rear wheel, repeat then to the right wheel, then the left front wheel. During the bleeding process, be sure to keep the brake fluid reservoir full of brake fluid. Obviously, don't get the fluid into your eyes, mouth or nose. Also it can cause rashes and reddening of the skin so you may want to wear rubber gloves. It will leave an oily stain if you let it flow onto your driveway or garage floor, so keep them covered during bleeding.
soft, squishy is air. I know you said that you bled the brakes, but i have had this time and time again, and until i have physically seen someone attempt to bleed the brakes i know why...........
let me give you a hint that i do, forget the one man bleeding kits, they are good for what they are designed for, trying to do everything yourself, which you cant...sometimes you need other peoples help.
1. open the farther most bleed nipple, and pump SLOWLY 4-5 times, close nipple on last down stroke.
2. assistant pump up the brakes
3. as assistant holds pedal, release bleed nipple, and before he/she gets to full travel, close the nipple (this will prevent air entry- as it acts like a vaccuum)
4. repeat 3-4 times
5. do the same at opposite end, working your way to the bleed nipple thats closest to the master cylinder.
NOTE : I am assuming that nothng was wrong with the brakes before-hand
