Transmission is going on my mitsubishi galant. want to know how much it would cost to fix

1) it depends on the person doing the job...
2) its cheaper to get the tranny replaced then to get it fixed because if they fix it, they have to pull it out, do a whole lot of changing parts etc, then they have to put it back it versus pulling it out, and putting the replacement in(may need a few modifications but its still should save u some money)

Usually if you want to go on the cheap get a used one from the salvage yard and employ a local shop to install $300 for tranny $300.00 to install most likely

2002 Mitsubishi Galant oil in overflow reservoir but no signs of coolant in crankcase any ideas would be appreciated


If automatic transmission, it may be transmission fluid. Lots of cars have the transmission cooler in the radiator.

the trans needs to be removed from car to repair, it can be rebuilt if needed

The best way to do that would be to take it to a transmission shop to get it diagnosed so you know what needs to be fixed.

How to put transmission fluid in 1999 Galant


with a funnel.transmission fluid is added through the dipstick tube.check w/ fluid hot,do not over fill.
