Is it in the starter or the trans? In the starter, replace the starter. In the trans, you may need to have someone repair the threads with helicoil, or you can put some locktight on the bolt, get it fairly tight, and it should set up.

First you want to determine the reset code for your factory installed stereo system. The anti-theft system in place will shut down when you disconnect the battery cables. You will need the reset code for your stereo to remove starter.
Park your Honda Accord on a level surface, activate the emergency brake and place blocks behind the back tires for safety. Disconnect the negative battery cable with a terminal puller. Disconnect the positive battery cable. Raise the front end of the car with a jack for easier access to the starter.
Remove the starter motor wiring harness in 2.2L, 2.3L and 2.7L engines. In 2.2L and 2.3L engines, your next step is to find the bracket on the starter motor and disconnect the lower radiator hose. In 3.0L engines, you need to remove the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) cooler.
Locate and remove the starter cable from terminal-B on the back of the solenoid (for all four engine sizes). Disconnect the black and white cable from the S-terminal.
Unfasten the two starter mounting bolts from the transaxle assembly. Remove the third mounting bolt at the back of the starter. Place all bolts and nuts in the baby food jar to prevent loss. Remove the malfunctioning starter.
Take your malfunctioning starter to the parts store with you. Aftermarket distributors remanufacture most of the starters they sell, so you can likely obtain a partial credit toward your new starter by exchanging your old one. Be sure that you take care not to damage the starter in transit, because the better condition it is in, the more you can get for it.
Purchase a replacement starter that has the same or higher cranking capacity (power rating) as the original starter in your Honda Accord. Also, match the bolt patterns, drive gears and electrical connections. Your owner's manual may list specifications or the auto parts technician will help you determine them.
Tighten the bolts in a pattern as such;
8 6 2 4 10 9 3 1 5 7
So if you were looking straight down onto the head, the first bolt you'd tighten would be the center one, closest to you. The second bolt you'd tighten is the center one farthest from you. The 3rd would be one left for middle closest to you, 4th would be one right from center, farther from you...Make sence? Tighten them all in that sequence, to 29 ft-lbs. After they are all tightened in that order, start from 1 and tighten them all to 51ft-lbs. Then finally, tighten them all down to 72ft-lbs.
Make sure to follow that order every time. If a bolt makes a wierd noise while you are tightening it, loosen the bolt, and retorque it from the 1st step.
the starter is located in between the engine and the transmission. remove the wiring connection (make sure to remember the circuit connection while removing) normally the starter is fastened with two 14 mm. bolt, loosen it up and pull-it out. repeat the process to install the new one.
to tighten the thin belt, loosen the top and then the bottom nuts that go through to the frame. The turn the bolt on top, the closest to the front of the car, clockwise. Then tighten both through bolts up. For the thick belt, loosen the through bolt on the alternator, then turn the long bolt at the bottom, front of car, of alternator clockwise.
Difficult to describe, but I will give it a try.
Inside the driver's side fender, close to the front of the car, there is a bracket that is held in place by one bolt, but which has a short horizontal bar as part of it which has two large clips encircling two cylinderical devices which have wires clipped into them at the bottoms. The one closest to the front (radiator) is the compressor clutch relay. The other one is the condenser fan relay.
