This means there is no crank reference at the pcm the crank sensor is a common problem with that vehicle but I would be sure to check for bad wiring or lose connection from the crank sensor to the pcm also the. If no problem with the wiring and the crank senor test bad then change it. The dealer would recommend also changing the cam sensor as well but I have just replaced the crank sensor and fixed with no probs(if the wiring has not been damaged have seen that before mainly where the wiring can rub at the crank near the bottom

Forgot to mention be sure if you replace the crank sensor buy it from the dealer, also a couple other things that might effect this is timing belt, or tone ring

2000 Dodge Intrepid, error codes P1684 and P0320. starter turns over, motor turns but does not fire

The first code is nothing major to worry about. It's just a general warning that some electronics may flag up as a fault as they had no power supply.
The second code needs looking at as the vehicle's ECU, (it's brain), is getting confused signals from the engine sensors. As a result it's staying in a Safe Mode. A good auto electrician should be able to sort out both problems.
The codes translate too...
P1684 = The battery has been disconnected within the last 50 starts.
P0320 = Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor/engine speed (RPM) sensor - circuit malfunction

I have a 1999 dodge intrepid 3.2l with p0320 and no start issue I replaced crank sensor and it did not fix it I need a wiring diagram to ck for broken wire or shorted

U can google it but if that does not the trick U will have to get the service manual. Just make sure the service manual has what you need since some service manuals do not show electrical schematics and they only appear in electrical service manual as in the Toyota Celica

Note: The Intrepid 3.5L engine takes the Delco starter, while the Intrepid 3.3L engine takes the
Nippondenso starter.
How can you tell which engine's in your Intrepid? read 8th digit of the VIN code.

chrysler codes are counted by flashes followed by a pause between codes..what you have is a code 12-start codes, code 33-AC relay circuit ope or shorted, code 24-throttle position sensor voltage too high or too low, code23-a problen with your air tempature sensor, code 55-end of codes.
