Petrol should be at least 150 psi and diesel should be 300 psi minimums.

SOURCE: engine knocking on toyota corolla after replacing damaged sump

oil pan and sump damage are very likely to lead to oil distribution problems, this is not temporary, if you hear a knock have it checked by a local mechanic who can verify it for you, it is possible that the engine is damaged internally.

SOURCE: mazda 6 2o diesel replaced turbo new unit same

There is a oil drain return from the turbo charger to the sump. If the sump oil level covers the outlet into the sump, oil will build excess pressure tin the turbo causing the sealing rings to leak oil in to the intake manifold. This would cause smokey exhaust and loss of oil. Try this. Drain the sump completely, refill with the exact quantity of oil to Mazda spec. Dip the oil and if the new oil level is lower than the full mark on the dipstick, you have found the cause of the problem. Mark this new level with a scriber or file and fill only to this new level. Hope this is the solution.

I have a 2010 mazda3 Diesel. I think the oil pickup filter is blocked. How easy is it to remove the sump to clean it?

It's pretty easy but you'll need to work under the vehicle, so make sure that the vehicle is on ramps or axle stands. Don't work under the vehicle just on a jack as it can slip & you can be killed.! Run the engine for 5 minutes to warm up the oil. Remove the sump plug & drain the oil into a suitable container. Remove all the bolts which hold the sump onto the bottom of the engin & drop it down. (sometimes there are additional sump bolts near the crankshaft which are on the side of the engine) You may need to prize the sump off. Do this slowly & carefully to avoid damage to yourself, the engine & to avoid twisting the sump tray. The oil pickup will now be seen. Remove the 1 or 2 bolts securing it. Wash it with degreasant or hot water & detergent Reftitting is the opposite of dismantling, BUT, You will need to clean-up both of the mating-faces of the sump & bottom of the engine. When they're clean, use a new sump gasket & a good oil-sealing gasket-sealant. Follow the instructions on the sealant about drying times. Bolt the sump back in position, using the correct bolt sequence & torque tightness. Replace the sump bolt. Fit a new oild filter & refill with new, clean oil.

Stop oil leak in sump Mazda 323 1.6 motor

1st thing I would recommend would be getting the whole engine degreased.then drive vehicle for a couple of days and then recheck where leak is coming from 100percent as it could be running down from rocket cover gasket.
if you pin point the leak is coming from the sump you will need to drain oil and remove sump and clean surface area and resell sump and refit.also replace sump plug gasket while ur going.

What causes my truck to lose water, and what makes water get into my engine oil?

the water can get into the sump oil from pin holes in the timing case behind the water pump impeller
if you have water in the sump oil it will be a dirty grey color and the filler cap will have water droplets under it
If the oil is normal color then the loss could be from rusted welsh plugs
pressure test the cooling system to check for leaks

What else can i do to solve compression pressure in the sump on a Hyundai H100 2012 2.6D bakkie? oil was blowing from the dipstick now pouring from the crank rear main seal.

First thing ,,,Is to remove dipstick and run engine [now how much back pressure have you got] if none ,ok .what is the oil pressure when cold, and when hot , should be very little differance, what ring gap did you give the rings when they were fitted. and was the rear main seal a good fit or loose fit ,,,and as for fitting new oil rings AGAIN and that stopped the pressure in the sump from blowing out the dip stick hole well THE compression rings are the ones which should have been checked for the correct gap and at -003thou per inch per bore,as the oil rings are only oil scrapers, and compression rings are for Compression is what you have a lot of in the sump.
Let me know how you get on,

How do I get compression back? Please help

You could have bad rings, valves not sealing, or worse cracked cylinder or cracked head. If it was one of the last two then you would be losing oil/water, or oil and water would be mixed. Either way it needs to go to a machine shop.
