Problem for Volkswagen 1999 Passat

2002 VW passat driver's side headlight keeps going out

By jboyea on Jul 03, 2009

the driver's side headlight keeps going out, when I tap on the rubber boot over the bulb the light will come back on. i have replaced the electrical connector to the bulb and still get this same problem with the bulb going out. The two wires going to the bulb seem like they are burnt, like it is getting hot and melting the plastic connector. Have anyone noticed a wire problem with this car?

I would replace the wires with a lower gauge wire (thus thicker) this may help this issue
