Question about 1992 Chevrolet G20
A friend of mine has a 1992 Chevy G20 van, with the 700R4 automatic trans. the problem is it seems to be stuck in the ''low'' range, it will not upshift. he tried moving it between L,2,3 and OD, but it still stays in low.
any ideas as to what he needs to look into?
Check the TV cable, it may need to be adjusted or it may be binding and jammed. There could also be a problem with a broken governor gear since it's made of plastic, driver's side near the back of the main case under a round case. If it's is the governor gear replace it with the roll pin and filter just to make sure there are no broken parks that may have been caught by the filter. Good luck and hope this helps.
