Question about 2004 Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

I am looking for a wiring diagram for a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo. The fuse keeps blowing every time the brakes are applied, meaning I have no brake lights, emergency flashers or turn signals. recently my son, who owns the Rodeo reported that it was hard to shift out of Park. He used both hands, applied force and finally got the shift lever to move. Ever since the fuse blows when the brakes are applied. I wonder if he broke the safety device in the shift linkage that actuates only when the brakes are applied, keeping the vehicle from going out of park until the brakes are applied.

There could be a problem with the linkage itself, when it does not come out of park there is a reason, when you force it, that is when you create bad problems for yourself. it could be something as simple as the brake lamp switch located directly on the brake pedal arm.

I'm looking for for a complete wiring diagram for a 2002 Isuzu rodeo because my marker lights never go off as long as battery is connected and I keep blowing ignition fuses

its 50 pages long, long into mitchell DIY and read. pay cash.

markers are park
the park relay is bad. or worse. (bad wiring near same)

blowing fuses is far worse is size is correct. (not under sized spec)
its means there is a short.
and the that grand fuse just saved you a fire.
we use an ammeter to find all shorts, got one>?

92 isuzu rodeo pig tail wires touched and shorted out put new fuses brake light switch and relay still no brake lights and only half fuse panel under hood is firing

automatic or stick shift???????????????????

firing? what is or is not firing?

please post the full story.
pig tails where.?
what started all this. fiddling.?
no brake lights. got that , was this the beginning? problem
ok ill give you the schematic, (mitchells has it , 24/7 so can you)
if you short wires, fuses will blow. or far worse.
here it is, very very simple system,
fuse, switch wires and bulbs.
see that 1st red wire below switch
step on switch it goes to 12vdc and fuse must not blow.
if fuse blows, that line is shorted.
its that simple
but finding shorts I use a circuit breaker device
and ammeter, to find it, (ask if tools can be bought)
lacking tools, only inspecting ever inch of red wire is a cure.

2004 isuzu rodeo - defrost switch light comes on when brakes are applied

Check the wiring coming through the tail gate, the wiring breaks and grounds out , check wiring, some wiring you can see if you open the door and look for the rubber boot containing wiring, check all wires, you will find bad broken wires, caution have checked could cause lights to go out and not work or cause a electrical fire.

Cruise control wiring

CHECK CRUISE CONTROL FUSE AND BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH, IF RADIO NOT FACTORY TYPE IF YOU HAVE DIFFERENT TYPE RADIO WITH MORE AMPS COULD BE OVERLOADING CIRCUIT CAUSING FUSE TO BLOW. LOOK IN OWNERS MANUAL IN DASH. SEE WHAT OTHER CIRCUIT SHARE SAME FUSE WITH RADIO.

The ABS light in my 2004 Isuzu Rodeo (3.5) has been on for an extended period of time. My car cuts off randomly when the brakes are applied. Suggestions?

Your ABS sensor/s... you have to check them all...Sometimes the sensor outer wire gets worn,an the wires are exposed on the inside, now if this has happened...the wires will short out, when they touch the metal frame of the vehicle, which will cause the vehicle to cut off... However also make sure you dont have any vacuum leaks from your brake booster... A big loss in vacuum will also have the vehicle to loss power....Gooduck...

No brake lights or dash lights

You obviously have a hard fault in the circuit. Somewhere in the system the power is grounding out before it is supposed to. I would download a diagram from autozone.com in the DIY section. There you can trace where the power is supposed to go and look for chaffed or bare wiring.

1996 isuzu rodeo problem

TO TROUBLE SHOOT ELECTRICAL YOU MIGHT NEED TO TRY A GOOD BULB OF CORRECT TYPE INTO SOCKET IN BRAKE FIXTURE THEN ALSO MAKE CERTAIN THE REGULAR TAIL LIGHT ELEMENT IS GOOD REPLACE FUSE WITHOUT PRESSING BRAKE LIGHTS ON IF FUSE IS OK THEN TURN ON THE RUNNING LIGHTS SEE IF THE ONE IN QUESTION IS COMING ON IF IT IS AND THE FUSE IS OK THEN PRESS BRAKE PEDAL AND SEE IF THE BULB LIGHTS WITH THE BRAKE ON ALSO THE FOUR WAY FLAHER IF FUSE IF STILL GOOD IT MIGHT ALLOW DASH LIGHTS TO COME ON MANY VEHICLES HAVE A SAFETY WAY OF LETTING YOU KNOW YOU HAVE NO TAIL LIGHTS BY ALSO TURNING OFF THE DASH LIGHTS.
