I have a 2007 mitsubishi eclipse 2.4l and I recently had to change the crank sensor. Before crank sensor went bad car ran great and was daily driver after I changed crank sensor it runs and drives great...

Buy a new crank sensor from a Mitsubishi dealer. For that sensor always buy OEM parts. More expensive, but 100% reliable.

Any codes? Maybe another sensor has gone bad? MAF?

What causes ignition modules to go bad in 1991 delta 88

Generally the cause of an electrical component to fail is high heat or extreme voltage load.
Is the coil pack and module getting too hot from the heat of the engine ?
Is it shorting out because of oil or wet surfaces ?
Could you be loosing voltage to the module from the key switch ?
Are you loosing ground signals from the computer ?

Is there a heat shield on the starter

I don't think there is a heat shield on the starter but, I wouldn't think that would be you're problem. I would try changing the ignition module. It's on the engine block, drivers side, I think. Usually when they are going bad they will shut off engine when they get hot. It won't crank until it cools off. After it cools engine will crank and run good until it gets hot again. Good Luck.

Getting no spark. a recent code mentioned the crank sensor and o2 sensor. the o2 sensor was replaced and no new code has shown but it only ran once since then. would like to know where the crank sensor...

O2 sensor won't cause a no spark no start condition but the crank sensor will. most time bad crank sensor will not set a code if engine doesn't start. usually set code on o drop while driving. I would check connection at sensor if good then replace sensor.
