What is the cause and how to repair the transmission shifting when the car/transmission is hot? The car drives good and the transmission shifts perfectly when the car is only used for a short period

This just started happening. The transmission seems as if it is trying to shift correctly.

SOURCE: 94 dodge neon auto tranny

Hi,

Here is some possible reasons why your transmission is having those problems .

* The gear shift linkage is binding
* There is an internal problem in the transmission
* The throttle cable is broken or disconnected
* The vacuum modulator on the transmission is faulty or the vacuum line is damaged
* The electronic transmission control circuit may be faulty

SOURCE: 2002 Toyota Celica with a strange shifting problem.

Automatic transmission are complex systems. The shifting of gears is based on a number of things like bands, speed, acceleration, deceleration, manifold back pressure, RPMs, temperature, etc.
Sometimes the electrical ground connection for the transmission can become corroded which causes poor shifting.
Since you are getting an error code, you should get a readout for it. Many auto supply store like Advance Auto will loan a meter for you to get a readout. Call up some stores to find one.

I have a dodge Dakota 94 5.2 4 wheel drive ran fine then went to go In reverse but went coward and then all gears are forward and stuck in 1 gear is this the shift solenoid

coward=FORWARD? SO R FAILS INTO DRIVE. OR LOW. PRNDL
well step one on any car or dAkota. learn what is behind that engine the full real name of the a/T MUST BE KNOWN FIRST
IT IS A 42RE OR 46RE BOX?? I GUESS 46
SO REV IS DRIVE. WELL FIRST MAKES SURE THE SHIFT LINKAGE IS NOT FAILING,
R MUST GO TO R ON THE BOX SIDE.
ATF FLUID LEVELS GOOD IN PARK AND HOT.
????
DO YOU KNOW HOW TO GET 1994, TCM FAULT CODES VIA SERVICE MANUAL STEPS>
THE BOX HAS AND ELECTRONIC GOVERNOR
IF BAD WILL NOT UPSHIFT IN DRIVE OR LIMITED.
makes sure to first set the shift cable adjustments so that all PRNDL detents in the box match up to lever in side car shifter. the service manual cover all that.
then this box has 4 pump pressure port that we use a 300psi gauge on to make sure pressures are good in REVERSE.
inside the box the REAR servo and and front clutch are both engaged if not reverse fails for sure pressures pressures wrong seen at black lines in my drawing below.,.

if the shifter manual valve below is mal-adjusted
reverse fails hard and is the most simple thing to work in this box SEE? if cable not adjusted, the valve is now offset and leaks and the black path here is dead.

mv-undefined-undefined-1.jpgreverse is NOT electronically shifted .

My GMC envoy xuv 2002 won't go into 3 rd. Gear? Oil pressure runs at 60 3/4 up on the gauge. I hear like a whistle sound. Any idea what could be going on with this?

  1. check fuses
  2. scan the pcm for errors (trans)
  3. get car serviced. takes tools to fix cars
drive 1,2,3,4 fails at 2>3 shifts means
3 gear dead
or 2,3 shift lands on false neutrals or flares
4L60E box I guess. seens true
and all E boxes must be scanned, or never learn what's up. ever.
ATF LEVELS GOOD

97 Corolla won't shift out of low and speedometer not working

The issue with your 1997 Toyota Corolla not shifting out of low and the speedometer not working could be caused by several things. Here are a few things that you could check:
  1. Transmission Fluid Level: Low transmission fluid level can cause shifting problems and even cause the transmission to slip out of gear. Check the fluid level and add fluid if necessary.
  2. Speed Sensor: A faulty speed sensor can cause the speedometer to stop working and can also affect the transmission's ability to shift correctly. If the sensor is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
  3. Vacuum Leaks: Vacuum leaks can cause shifting problems, as well as other issues with your vehicle's performance. Check for any cracks or holes in the vacuum hose and repair or replace as necessary.
  4. Transmission Control Module: The transmission control module can sometimes malfunction, causing shifting problems and other issues. If you suspect this may be the issue, have the module checked by a professional.
  5. Shift Solenoids: Shift solenoids control the movement of fluid in the transmission, and if they are damaged or clogged, they can cause shifting problems. Have the solenoids inspected and replaced if necessary.
If you're unable to diagnose and fix the problem yourself, it's best to take your vehicle to a mechanic who specializes in transmission repair for a proper diagnosis and repair.

62te trany 2008 sebring in reverse wants to go forward drive positions no movement

Hello
The issue you're describing with your 2008 Sebring and its 62TE transmission not moving in drive positions but trying to go forward in reverse could be due to a few different things:
  1. Transmission control module (TCM) failure: The TCM is responsible for controlling the shifting of the transmission. If it fails, it can cause the transmission to behave erratically.
  2. Shift solenoid failure: The shift solenoids control the fluid flow to the clutch packs in the transmission. If a solenoid fails, it can cause the transmission to behave abnormally.
  3. Low transmission fluid level: If the transmission fluid level is low, it can cause the transmission to shift erratically or not at all.
  4. Wiring issues: If there is a problem with the wiring in the transmission control system, it can cause the transmission to behave abnormally.
To diagnose and repair the issue, it's recommended that you have the vehicle inspected by a professional mechanic with experience working on transmissions. They will be able to diagnose the problem and make the necessary repairs.
Have a nice day

Why my Hyundai matrix 2005 can't go in drive

If the transmission was recently repaired and the vehicle is still having trouble shifting into drive, there could be a few possible issues at play. Here are a few things that might be causing the problem:
  1. The transmission was not properly reassembled: If the transmission was not put back together correctly, it could be causing shifting problems.
  2. There is a problem with the transmission fluid: If the transmission fluid is low or contaminated, it can cause shifting issues.
  3. There is a problem with the shift linkage: The shift linkage connects the shift lever to the transmission, and if it is damaged or not adjusted properly, it may be difficult to shift into gear.
  4. There is a problem with the transmission control module: The transmission control module is a computer that controls the transmission. If it is not functioning properly, it can cause shifting problems.

Shifting problems when hot

These kinds of problems are common on the dodge mini vans, I think you will need to overhaul the trans, it has an internal fluid leak, one other thing to check is the electrical connector to the trans, make sure it is tight and has no corrosion or fluid in it, a poor connector connection can also cause these kinds of issues hot.
