Question about 1991 Ford F150
Own a 91 Ford F150 with an inline 6. I replaced the water pump and the engine is throwing off the belt.
I had the exact same problem, except it was shredding the belt as well. It even jumped off the pully after just distance down the road. Come to find out the idler (which had been changed out with what was "supposed" to be the right one) was the wrong one. It looked right, but after changing the idler out we have not had this problem again.

Look at belt from the side of the truck see if the belt is lined up or not, if it's not you mave the wrong water pump or the pully could be bent, to see if the pully got bent remove belt put bolts threw the pully and spin the pully if it wabbles you have found your problem, make sure the shaft is clean where the water pump and pully attach use sand paper to clean any scratchs that may have got on there from a wrench,,.
