The lights are out on my center high mounted brake light. Dealer said over $600 to replace! Whats another way? Is it hard wired or are there bulbs?

No it would cost you that in the dealer. Because they charge labor and parts, plus misc. So... what they do is replace the whole rear thrid brake light. They do this because they cant replace each LED that the brake light has. It is sold as a unit.

But make sure that it wasnt a fuse that made your 3rd brake light not work.
If not then you could go to a junk jard and buy one there and ask the dealer to install it. That could cut down the price.

Hi,
Get the original bulb for that 3rd brake light from the dealer parts center.
Tell them( parts dealer center ) the model of your vehicle and they will provide necessary part.

1998 chevy lumina: rear window brake light not working, left brake light not working, rear left turn signal not working

See if bulbs have burnt out in the left brake light and rear turn signal (one bulb if combined) and also rear center high mount brake light.

If the left turn signal has a slower speed than the right turn signal, this is a symptom of a bulb or bulbs burnt out.

Usually, the wiring is not a problem, but I would not rule wiring (or sockets) as a problem out.

Good luck on this repair.

if the third brake light works then ther is a broken wire. start looking for it at the tail lights and work forward if you cant find the break you can always run a new possitive wire from either the third brake light to the tail lights or if the trailer wiring harness hase power to the brake lights you can splice in there as well. hope this helps
