On my 2003 Chevy Suburban, the tensioner rattles when I take RPMS above 1500-2000. Originally the belt broke, replaced it. The rattle was still there. Replaced tensioner, still had the rattle. Checked the charge on the A/C and it was over charged. Fixed that now it rattles but only occasionally. Also the air to the rear is much colder then the front air and if you turn the rear off the rattle returns and the air in the front is even warmer (not hot, just not as cold). Lastely it was recommened I replace the cabin filter but I have no clue where it is located.
well if it is the engine i am thinking of that has the small ac belt with the little tensioner on the passenger side bottom area it is most likely the ac clutch is locking up turn the rear air of have some one rev the motor watch the tensioner if it is moving alot banging into another part making the rattle then you might get ready to have to replace the compressor when it gets worse they usually break the tensioner.
