My 2005 dodge grand caravan's air compresser blew up, my machanic fixed it and the day I got it back my car broke down again, my machanic fixed it agian, it has been fixed for the same problem 4 times by the same guy he is now telling me there is no hope for the car and that what happened to the air compressor is called the black death and I should get rid of it. I can't afford a new car can't this problem be fixed?

Chrysler has a service bulliten on this issue, you replace the comp, drier, lines and hoses, and requries a new expansion valve ,blockage from drier decant materal, and flush the system, this is available in a service kit, wich is fairly reasonable in price, about $700.00 Cnd. I have done alot of these repairs on 2003-2006 models mini vans. any vehicle is worth the price for ac. GOOD LUCK RDJRP

If the compressor blew up,you will need a compressor,dryer.both high sde and low side lines,and the condenser and evaporator flushed.
