Question about 2000 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

The left side of the dash won't light up.

Half of the speedometer, the fuel gauge, and the temperature gauge don't have illumination and I suspect it is a burned out lamp. I'm not sure how to remove the panel to replace the lamp.

Check fuses on fuse panel. Take car to autozone and have them find / locate your fuse block. You check fuses and light bulbs with a volt ohm meter.(vom can be bought @ wal-mart, target, kmart etc. an investment - not a cost.
Let there be light . . .Good luck

What can I do about 2 dash lights that are out ?

The first thing I would do is call the dealer and see if they show a part number for the instrument cluster illumination bulbs. If they do than its as easy as removing the cluster and replacing the bulbs.

Gauges in 92 camaro rs stopped working

Remove it..Probably installed incorrectly . Tach is probably incorrectly wired into the distributor harness and effecting rpm voltage to the speedometer and may possibly blown the voltage regulator to the gauge in the dash.

Check fuse No. 9 (10A) in the driver's side kick panel fuse box. But if your other gauges are working (speedometer, tachometer, low oil light, etc.) then it is possible that when you jumped the battery you inadvertently reversed the cables and created a reverse voltage. This will impact some of the vehicle electronics. If you feel this might be the case, you should test the cooling system temperature sender to see if it failed. If it did, you should suspect that the fuel gauge drive circuit located in the instrument cluster is also failed.
