You more than likely have air in your ABS module. you need to take it to a shop that has a computer to open all the valves in the ABS mudule and bleed the system.

Check the float sensor in the master cylinder it may have stuck in the down position indicating low brake fluid level.

To change these pads is simple. You first should wash down the area with brake clean so you don't inhale the dust. Then they are to pins that go through the top of the pads and the caliper. (This Caliper has pistons on bothsides) You them remove the metal clips that hold those two pins. with a needle nose pliers. after removing the clips you will be able to remove the two pins and remove pads. Using the old pads in place you can then push back the piston to make room for the new pads.

SOURCE: 1991 honda civic brake light stays on need to push brake pedal to

Sounds like you might have a caliper that is stuck and is not fully disengaging. If it is in the rear then you may have a bad rear caliper. Twoo things you can try. One is to crawl under the ca and adjust the tension two nuts on the emergency brake line. If that does not resolve the problem then remove the back tire and try to spin the drum or rotor whichever you may have. If it does not spin then try adjusting the e brake cable more if it still does not respond then you need to do a brake rebuild. Also does it pull while it is dragging? If it is then you will need to rebuild the brakes no matter what.

SOURCE: emergency brake light stays on on my 03 tahoe

I have an '03 Chevy Tahoe and I had a similar problem. I discovered that there is a bare copper striking plate or tab that the medal emergency parking brake pedal touches when the emergency brake is set. It turns on the idiot brake light in the dash. It had broken off and the light stayed on all the time with the say issue of chiming whenever the vehicle is in motion. You or the dealership must replace that striker plate to fix the problem.

1996 Toyota 4runner emergency brake light flickers on and off

Plan A. - You have a switch by the emergency brake that engages when the brake pedal is on or off. There is a small round switch like item where the pedal is pressed on. You will see a button, and this button is the switch and at the other end of this button are two wires plugged in. Unplug either one and the light filckering should go away. If it stops filkering then it is either an adjustment of the switch or replacement. Let me know if this does not take care of your issue and I will guide you through plan B

My 4runner breaks fail atimes. what can I do to resolve this? Brand is toyota 4runner 1999 model v6 engine (5vz) Whenever I apply break softly, the break pedal goes all the way down. I have changed all...

Calipers need to be replaced.
Brake fluid needs to be flushed completely through 4 wheels.
If you are not comfortable to do it your self then have a shop to do it. These calipers can be rebuilt, but I would go with new ones.It is recommended to have brake fluid flushed every 3 years. The brake fluid is subjected to absorb moisture over time. When it has moisture, it combines with dust causing some clogged up at moving surface locations as cylinders inside calipers. New brake fluid in the line can maintain the brake performance as it is designed to do so. Flushing is not the same as filling up. Good luck.

Blinking Orange Exclamation Point on 04 4runner

Since your question is listed as a 1999 Saturn SL and a Toyota 4Runner, I will answer both:

1999 Saturn SL
Typically the orange exclamation point dash warning light is indicating a problem with your brakes, parking or hand brake. Check to ensure that your emergency brake is completely disengaged.
Check to ensure proper brake fluid level.
Otherwise this could be indicating a problem with the ABS system.

04 Toyota 4Runner
Low tire air pressure. Inflate to approximately 32 PSI should correct your problem.

I hope this helps.

Need to tighten emergency brake on 1997 toyota 4runner

if you need to tighten the cable under the vehicle you will find where the single cable from the front connects to the two rear to tighten set the emergency brake six to seven clicks and tighten nut until the brakes catch. if you need to adjust the actually brakes in the drum set the ebrake the same setting find the little rubber plug on the backing plate remove get a small flat head screw driver and flash light find the little gear inside use the screwdriver to turn will only go one way turn the gear until brakes grab and wheel can't be turned.

Toyota 4runner brake

Did you replace these all by yourself or have them installed ?
Brake master cylinder has to be bench bled and the entire system has to be bled when installed. Or there will never be any brakes. If this is not the problem I need more information in order to diagnose correctly.
