If the rest are working then maybe the power window mechanism in the left needs replacement or try pulling out the left door sidings and try pulling the plug of the power window then try cleaning the terminal. it rusts in a given time thats why its losing contact. hope this helps

Hi, freelander 2 td4 2007 driver door window comes down on its own at random whilst vehicle is locked. Please help. Thanks..

Hi,some times after battery is discannected this can happen.
I would try closeing the window up,then hold the switch so as if to close the window and hold for 5 seconds, then try opening up and dow a few times, then try locking freelander up and see if that helps cure it.
I hope this works for you,it did for me a few years ago.

try this to rest the windows

Lower the window all the way manually.
Then manually raise the window for about 2-3 secs and stop.
Then manually raise the window all the way to the top and stop.
Then manually raise the window (actually just hold the button up as the window can't raise further) for 2-3 secs.

I have a land rover freelander 2002, the window from the tail gate door goes down by itself and stays down. The window goes up fine but when it closes all the way up, comes right back down. This problem...

I've had something like this happen a couple of times.

The cure in both instances (and probably will be in yours) is the 'recalibration' of the window lift system.

It IS in the user handbook, but here is the procedure anyway.

1 Ensure the tail door is closed, the vehicle unlocked and the alarm disarmed.
2 On 3 door models, ensure the roof is on (hard back) or lowered and secured (soft back).
3 With the ignition on, use the console switch, or the vehicle key in the tail door lock, to raise the window until the
motor stalls with the window fully closed.

(the holding the switch on until the motor 'stalls' is the key thing - you MUST allow the motor to stall)

4 Switch off the ignition.

If the calibration procedure is unsuccessful, the CCU will sound a warning for approximately 0.8 second and fully lower
the window.
Tail door window calibration can fail for the following reasons:
l Window stops before minimum travel is achieved.
l Window does not achieve a stall.
l Window request removed before stall is achieved.
l Tail door opened while driving window up.

My back window will not close on my land rover freelander from the inside. when i close it from the outside the minute i unlock the vehicle the window goes back down.

use a rag and hang it over the window. Then use the key from the outside to roll it up and make it stay up for a moment or so (20 seconds is fine) and then try to use it normally. Also check to make sure nothing is stuck inside the gasket causing the "pinch protection" to activate.

Freelander w reg. 1.8 petrol, 64,000 miles on clock. when do I need to change the timing belt

If you are asking about the actual TIMING BELT and not the serpentine belt, I would check with a dealership or a local garage. The Freelander has three (3), yes--3 timing belts:

front timing belt

left side rear timing belt

right side rear timing belt

Hope this helps!
