Question about 1996 Chevrolet Blazer
I have had problems with my 1997 cadallac seville for some time now.
First, check engine light has been on for 30,000 miles now
It only has 105,000 miles on it.
Second, I changed the fuel pump after the car completely died at 80K but that didn't help this problem.
Third, the car continues to struggle to get up steep hills and i can't it past 40MPH on really steep hills.
Any ideas? Should I ditch the car as it is dying? It does make noises when it is idling but the mechanics said the noise wasn't bad enough to signal total engine meltdown.
It still passes smog checks fine.
Also air conditioner is out. it blows but says it needs the frion liquids to run and mechanic says it would be an expensive repair not just changing liquids or so he thinks.
So with these problems I am considering changing cars before investing big money into it. Thanks!
Has you Mechanic scanned the onboard computer for error codes ?
If the check engine light is on thats the first thing I would be doing , As the car knows whats wrong with itself !
I would be getting a second opinion and recommend that if you are going to do the repairs get 3 quotes.
Hope this helps.
Let me know what the codes are when you get them.
