You will have to remove some of the radiator hoses as they will block the access to one of the mounting bolts. Easy after that: remove the bolts, disconnect the wires.

SOURCE: Brake drum 2005 Escape

here is a diagram on how to remove your brake drum. please do not forget to rate and comment about your experience with fixya today.

Removal & Installation
CAUTION Dust and dirt accumulating on brake parts during normal use may contain asbestos fibers from production or aftermarket brake linings. Breathing excessive concentrations of asbestos fibers can cause serious bodily harm. Exercise care when servicing brake parts. Do not sand or grind brake lining unless equipment used is designed to contain the dust residue. Do not clean brake parts with compressed air or by dry brushing. Cleaning should be done by dampening the brake components with a fine mist of water, then wiping the brake components clean with a dampened cloth. Dispose of cloth and all residue containing asbestos fibers in an impermeable container with the appropriate label. Follow practices prescribed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for the handling, processing, and disposing of dust or debris that may contain asbestos fibers.

  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.

CAUTION Use of a brake drum puller or a torch is not recommended. Brake drum distortion can result.

NOTE If the brake drum is rusted to the axle shaft pilot diameter, tap the center of the brake drum between the wheel studs.
  3. Remove the brake drum.
  4. If equipped, remove the brake drum retaining clips.
  5. If the brake drums will not come off, follow these steps.
  6. Move the brake shoe adjusting lever off the brake adjuster screw.
  7. Loosen the brake shoe adjuster screw nut by adjusting the nut upward.
  8. Using the special tool, 134-R0191, measure the brake drum inside diameter.
  9. Install a new brake drum if the maximum inside diameter exceeds the specification shown on the outside of the brake drum.

To install:

WARNING Whenever a wheel is installed, always remove any corrosion, dirt or foreign material present on the mounting surfaces of the wheel or the surface of the wheel hub, brake drum or brake disc that contacts the wheel. Installing wheels without correct metal-to-metal contact at the wheel mounting surfaces can cause the wheel nuts to loosen and the wheel to come off while the vehicle is in motion, causing loss of control. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.

  1. Clean the wheel hub mounting surface and wheel pilot.
  2. Install the tire and wheel assembly.

SOURCE: Will a radio from a 03 ford explorer fit in a 05

They have kits to retrofit radios. Another thing that will cost is having the radio reprogrammed. Everything has theft lock on them now days. You would be better off to get a aftermarket stereo

Will a radio from a 03 ford explorer fit in a 05 ford escape? The 05 escape has the pins you need to take it out. The explorer doesn't, that has two bolts. Just wondering if it will or could work.

I have a 05 Ford escape w/97k miles. It is the v6 4 wheel drive. It sometimes does not start. After slamming the door or shaking it the power comes back and it starts. Help?

First, the vehicle isn't all that old or high mileage.
Use common sense with the door slamming. Just don't do it and forget shaking. If you need to shake the vehicle to start it ,it sort of defies logic.
When you say sometimes,I assume this has been going on a while.
Without the vehicle, no one can help you, if you plan on working on it yourself, unless you have detailed explanation of what you have done in the way of diagnostic or trouble shooting so far.
Professional help may be your best bet.
I would expect a simple, common everyday failure of a starter solenoid, starter, battery, etc,no big deal.

Where is the starter located on a 2.3 liter 2006 ford escape?

Front side of the motor at the transmission. It is difficult to get to. I know the 2005 version appears to use an induction starter which is difficult to get to but fairly dependable. If your having starting problem I would look for another cause though, I rarely find issues with the escape starter.
