2000 Jetta TDI the Horn has cut out! Is there a wiring diagram to be had? Fuse is good, no power to horns! What Relay/Contacts to check??

Hey there! There was posted a wiring diagram re "What fuse controlled what on a VW Eos" which I can't read/see nor enlarge. Would anyone have same for a 2000 VW Jetta TDI? My horn stopped working! The fuse is good but don't know what relay I should look at that manages the horn or connections between the relay or fuse I should encounter. I have no pwr at the horns but good grounds on the other pins. The fuse should only control the load downstream of the relay I/P V right?-vice power TO the relay via the Steering Wheel switch! I still can't find out which relay I could start a check by and I don't know if there's V there via Str Wheel which shouldn't be fused..!!

Sorry! Switched the type 53 relay twice with 2 others no change, V at the term for the load [before the relay contact] and V on one side of the other pair of terminals that goes away when I press the horn..... strange, would have expected V when I hit the horn! I pull the fuse and relay doesn't work.

SOURCE: My 1996 jetta horn does not work. Fuse / relay okay

hi did you also checked the horn itselfs. when you take out the horn and look at the back you will see a adjust srew with sealingmastic on it. you can remove the sealingstuff and try to adjust the horn. this only works if the coil is not broken. but first you have to check the connection inside the steeringwheel. make sure the switch in the steeringwheel is making contact to earth. if this all doesnt work you have to buy a new one goodluck.

SOURCE: 2000 VW golf horn won't work, fuse is good , relay 53 is good but changed it anyway. No voltage reading at horns. Tested horn off car and it is fine

Did you check the power to the relay? and then the signal wire (ground) at the relay to see if it's being signaled? Otherwise you may have a clockspring or module problem not allowing the signal to pass through to the relay.

2000 VW Jetta TDI my Horn just stopped! I don't know which relay to start by, The fuse is good but no V at horns Is there a wiring diagram to be had?

There is a "clockspring" wiring spiral in the steering wheel to accommodate the rotating steering wheel with controls on it. If this breaks, you may lose some or all functions controlled by stuff on the s-wheel.

Horn do not work what is the problem in honda civic ex 2000

if the fuse and relay is fine then check the horn itself. with someone pushing on the horn button check for power at the wire on the horn you should have power if not it could be a broken wire from the horn back to the relay. also check to make sure the horn has a good ground. if you do have power chances are the horn itself needs replacing. sometimes the horn pad goes bad, but that rarely happens.

Horn on 2000 toyota camry not working!!!

Your horn circuit is very simple. It consists of the primary circuit, which controls the relay coil and the secondary circuit that applies voltage through the relay contacts to the horns.

The Horn fuse (10 Amp) in the engine compartment fuse block supplies the battery power for both the primary and secondary circuits. This fuse is haot at all times (regardless of the ignition switch position).

Battery power is supplied to Pin 1 of the horn relay. Pin one of the relay connects to both the relay coil and to the secondary main contact.

The ground for the relay coil is provided via the GREEN/BLACK wire through the horn switch. If the relay is clicking when you push the horn button, then the primary side of the horn circuit is working.

When the relay coil is grounded by the horn switch, the relay contacts come together (that's what makes the clicking sound) and supply voltage to the GREEN/WHITE wire that connects to the horn assemblies.

Check for battery voltage at the horn when the horn switch is pressed. If there is no battery voltage present, then the only thing it can possibly be is dammaged contacts in the horn relay or the GREEN/WHITE wire is broken between the relay and the horn.

If there is voltage present at the horn on the GREEN/WHITE wire, the only possibilities are bad horn assemblies or a bad body ground that is not allowing the horns to ground properly. A bad ground condition can be verified by running a jumper wire from the battery NEGATIVE post and connecting it to the mounting bolt at the horn. If this makes the horn work, then you probably need to repair your body grounds near the battery.

if you check the wire that comes from the horn button to the relay for voltage when the horn is pushed and have voltage then you have a bad relay,if not then you probably have bad contacts in the horn pad area or even the clock spring itself.

The click you here is the horn relay, You need to find the horns and check for power at the wire connectors. But you probably have a bad low and now a bad high not horn. since the relay clicks your fuse is good so that eliminates the fuse.

My horn on my 2000 Volkswagen jetta vr6 stopped working and i checked all the fuses and they all good. so i need to find out whats the problem.

Try to locate the horn assembly. When you do, disconnect the wires from the horn and connect them to a volt meter. Make sure that the contacts are free of corrosion. Have a person activate the horn while you check to see if there is a 12 volt supply at the meter. If there is power, clean the contacts on the horn and reconnect the wires to their respective locations. Try the horn again. If the horn does not work, replace the horn assembly. Hope this helps.

check all your fuses first. if they are all good, remove the horn relay and check to see if it has power to it with key on, horn not pressed. it should. if it does, check to make sure the power is flowing through the relay when horn is depressed. theres should be a wiring diagram on the relay. if power is not getting through, replace the relay, if it is getting through you have a broken wire between relay and horn.
