Question about 1996 Hyundai Accent
I have Hyundai Elantra 2003 with 88,000 miles on it. The pick up is really bad and the rpm goes quite high when I go from 20mph to higher... also the gear shifting is slow and the car subtly jerks during the shift. What could be the problem?
Do a full Service air filter oil transmission oil brake fluid radiator the 9 yards this should help some if not then you should take it to a mechanic to have your transmission tested or you can use lucas transmission stop slip

It seems as though the Transmission clutches are slipping if it's an automatic or the clutch is worn if it's a standard. If it's an automatic transmission check the Transmission oil it should be clean and no burnt smell. You will easily recognize burnt oil by it's nasty smell.
