You will also smell antifreeze/Prestone Sweet smell if the heater core is leaking and the windshield will steam up in cold winter not to mention the obvious coolant loss. i would think if it's water, unless you are using water in the cooling system, then it could be caused by the AC when it's on. This is normal for the hoses to have moisture on them and you will see it on the ground underneath the car when the AC is running.

If the core is bad you will most likely have a wet place on the front floor passenger side. If its dry the core is probably not leaking. You might just need a new section of heater hose. It could be original so replace the hoses first.

No,it could b the heater control valve or a hose just leaking. Most of the time when the heater core goes bad the driver side floor will be wet and the windshield will fog up. And you will smell antifreeze.

How do I replace the water hose outlet on the fire wall of a 2004 kia sorento

You mean the brass or metal heater core outlet? If that is leaking and not the heater hose, you will need to replace the heater core. It is like a small radiator with coolant running through it. Find a repair manual for the kia to see the heater core replacement procedure. Some are easy, and some require removing the dash to replace the heater core- a pretty time consuming job.

I have a 2005 grand prix and my floor on the passenger side is soak with water or coolent. Is my heater core bad or can I just blow it out with a air compressor?

most of the time when you have a blown heater core they are incased and there radiator fluid wont access the car if it dose then you can by pass the heater core by attaching a piece of hose between the two hoses that go the fire wall and just drive with no heat dose not damage the vehicle and will not harm anything you just might get cold if you in cold temps other then that you should be fine. now you said its on the driver floor if you smelt it it could just be water but if it smells like radiator fluid them it could have leaked under your whole dash and onto the driver flool i would be carefull and play it on the safe side and find someone to take a look at it

Steam coming out vents haven seen any leaks yet

Hello jgreenley32: My name is Roger and I will help you. Steam from the a/c and defrost vent generally means a leaking heater core. The steam usually has a really sweet sickening smell to it. The longer you run the engine the thicker the steam. The way to tell for sure it is the heater core would be to bypass the heater. To do this just remove the heater hoses from the heater core at the fire wall area. Not sure where they are just follow the hoses from the engine back to the firewall on the passenger side of the truck.Remove the hoses and plug them off or put a splice between them. Start the truck and warm up the engine. If the steam is gone ? Then the heater core is bad and needs replaced. Should you need further help please just ask. Please rate the answer. Thank You for using Fix Ya. Roger

I changed radiator, thermostat, water pump, and replaced a freeze plug in back of engine and still not getting heat?

it possible your heater core may be clogged. the heater core is mounted on the fire wall inside the vehicle. you can remove the two hoses going through the fire wall and use a water hose to determine whether it is clogged or not

Its leaking water from the fire wall and steams up insiide thre car

either the heater core has sprung a leak, or the hose and its discharge is shooting inside the passenger compartment.my bet is on the heater core.you can by-pass the heater core.
remove both hose's that go to heater core and connect hoses with a piece of tubing, or make a loop with on hose to connect both water outlets .

I cant afford to fix heater core at this time so how do i identify hoses to bypass

http://www.chiltonlibrary.com/ContentViewer/CVFrameset.aspx
Here is a link for you if you want to replace the heater core your self with common tools. As for the heater hose, you should see two small radiator hose going to the fire wall. You can disconnect the hose from the fire wall and connect them together, this will by pass the heater core till you replace the bad core. Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to know your expedition is running 100% again.
