2001 audi quattro tt had problem sometime changing gears while driving it would sound like gear box fell out. Wouldn't go back into gear. Kill the engine and restart gears would work. Why?

You need the transmission control module scanned for fault codes. I know the check engine light must be coming on when this happens, correct?

2014 Outback - Brake light flashes and Check Engine light come while driving then the engine shuts off. Wait 2-3 minutes before restarting. Happened 3 times in the past week.

Have the codes read. Check the brake fluid level. Wouldn't surprise me if low brake fluid doesn't kill the engine know days.

Astra goes limp mode once service lifght comes on

this is normal practice to protect the engine /transmission from costly repairs. Run the fault codes to find which sensor is activated. Check all fluid levels (coolant at the radiator cap). Fix the fault and use a scanner to reset the light.

Check engine light comes on. It hesitates or might stall. Always restarts no problem.

check for stored codes by turning key as follows;
on is when the dash lights come on (no cranking) and off is one click back.

off-on off-on, off-on The codes will blink out on the check engine light in pairs, 5-5 being the end of the test. Or the codes will display on the digital odometer. write down the codes and report back or do a google search.

Check engine still comes on afer new egr was put on

Did you reset the code system? The error code does not reset itself.

1. AutoZone can reset it for you (free).
==== or ===
2. You can disconnect the negative cable from your battery for 10 minutes, it will reset the code.

3. The error will go away (for good, we hope).

Hope this helps!

I backed the 2004 envoy into my driveway and the engine killed and the reduced engine power light came on along with service engine light also. Restarted the engine and had no throttle while in park...

You need to check the fuel injection system, throttle body, sensors, check harness for ground. Best solution is to have your engine scanned using Tech 2 scanner. The mechanic will advice you based on the scan code. Whenever the "service engine soon " light the computer system logs the error code. You can retrieve this error code using a scanner.
